Things Your ‘Friend’ Should Know if Considering Divorce: Online Class Re-cap

Thinking about ending a marriage is difficult enough. But figuring out all the legal issues around that big decision can be overwhelming.

We recently held an important and highly informative session for people who may be considering divorce, during which New York family law attorneys, Emily Pollock and Kelly Frawley, of Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP – also our generous sponsor – covered some common questions and concerns people have when considering ending their marriage.

Some of the topics that Emily and Kelly discussed during class were finding an attorney who is a good fit, what information should be assembled in advance of a consultation, what to expect during a matrimonial consultation, how decisions about children be made, and more.

In case you missed it, you can listen to the recorded class here.

If you live in New York County, you’ll be able to look up the judges in the matrimonial part, see court rules, and get access to commonly-used forms HERE.

For those of you not in NY, you’ll be able to find similar resources on the web site of the appropriate court that would hear your divorce case.
