Mommybites Boston Team
Melanie Gigante, President/Owner of Mommybites Boston
Melanie became the President/Owner of Mommybites Boston in 2015 after Rachael transitioned the business over to her. Melanie’s entrepreneurial spirit was fulfilled when she stumbled upon Mommybites Boston while searching for parenting resources. Melanie was seeking to connect to other parents while she and her husband raised their three kids away from their families who live in Puerto Rico and Denmark. Through Mommybites Boston, Melanie is able to pursue her passion of helping other parents facing the same day-to-day challenges of parenthood.
Melanie holds an MBA from Middlebury Institute of International Studies in California and a BS in Marketing from Penn State University. She has spent her career working for companies like L’Oreal and Cartier in NYC and most recently TJX in Framingham. She has three boys Viggo, Noah and Aksel. When Melanie is not juggling the challenges of raising her boys and only girl, a Tiny Toy Poodle, she can be found at the gym working off her baby weight, practicing yoga or finding the best shopping deals. She loves fashion, beauty, learning from different cultures and anything French. Every now and then, she gets to escape the New England weather and enjoy the beaches of her home country, Puerto Rico.

Edith Kilgallen, Events Manager
Edith Kilgallen comes to us with first-hand experience taking her two young children to our events and realizing how important they’ve been for her and her family. While raising her kids with her husband in the suburbs, she’s completing a business management degree. Katherin Hudkins, New Moms’ Support Groups Lead Instructor
Katherin Hudkins is the Founder of Seedlings. Katherin has been studying childbirth since her first year at Smith College, where she received her BA in Anthropology with a focus in the Anthropology of Reproduction. Katherin has over a decade of extensive childcare experience, worked as a birth doula in Ecuador and Massachusetts, and spent a summer as a traditional midwife’s apprentice in Guatemala.
Her passion for emotional support of expecting and new parents brought her to Isis Parenting in June of 2010, where she worked as an assistant center manager and a staff trainer. Her natural gift with moms and babies drew her into the field of postpartum support as a doula and Isis facilitator of new moms groups. Her teaching style is warm, upbeat, and positive, and informed by her cross-cultural and evolutionary studies of childbirth and parenting.
Ashley Oliver, New Moms’ Support Groups Instructor
As an assistant manager at Isis Parenting, Ashley discovered her love to work in an atmosphere where you can see both parents and children learn and grow. After witnessing the importance of community support for new moms, she was eager to become a new moms’ group instructor. As a mom to a wonderful 6 year old, she has a natural compassion for postnatal support. She is cross trained with our own Mommybites instructor Katherine Hudkins, participated in A New Moms Group Facilitator Training, and also works at the Little Lovage Club. She has a BA & MS from Lasell College, years of childcare experience, and has worked in the prenatal and postnatal industry since 2012. Rachael Fanopoulos, Mommybites Boston Founder
Rachael, a local girl originally from Peabody, MA, started Mommybites Boston in 2012 after moving from New York City to Arlington, MA. As an expectant and new mom, Rachael was a “regular” at Mommybites’ New York events. Mommybites’ events and online resources left a lasting impression on Rachael as being uniquely down to earth, non-judgmental and practical…something you don’t always find in Mommy-land! Realizing that there was opportunity here in Boston to support moms in the same way, she partnered with Mommybites to create Mommybites Boston.
Prior to launching Mommybites Boston, Rachael worked in various facets of marketing strategy and finance at Morgan Stanley, OppenheimerFunds, John Hancock & J. Walter Thompson. Rachael also consults in a strategic marketing capacity. Rachael holds her BS in Advertising from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications and her MS in Strategic Communications from Columbia University.
