Mommybites (formerly known as babybites) is the go-to parenting community for in-person and online resources, support and education. We offer free parenting tele-classes, webinars, videos, on-line support groups, blogs, a mom-generated nanny board and in-person new mom lunches, seminars, the Mommybites’ Ultimate Mom’s Night Out and more! We connect moms to moms, moms to experts and moms to local parenting resources.

Laura Deutsch, Mommybites Co-Founder

Laura Deutsch is the co-founder of Mommybites and the original founder and creator of Babybites. Since first starting babybites in 2006 by handing out post cards to fellow moms on the streets of Manhattan, Laura has continued to use her business savvy, dedication and creativity to cultivate and grow Mommybites both nationally and in its flagship city of Manhattan.  Prior to founding Mommybites, Laura worked as a middle school math teacher at The Dwight School in Manhattan.Laura holds her BA from Binghamton University and her MA in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College. She currently resides in Summit, NJ with her husband, Brian, daughter, Ava, and son, Jacob.

 

Heather Ouida, Mommybites Co-Founder

Heather Ouida co-founded Mommybites with business partner Laura Deutsch.  She is responsible for managing, growing and overseeing Mommybites nationally as well their flagship city (previously known as babybites and kiddybites) of Manhattan. Heather’s favorite parts of her job include hosting “Mommybites Live” an educational talk show with parenting luminaries, writing her blog which varies between sappy, educational and downright snarky, interviewing parenting experts for Mommybites’ regular tele-class series and guest facilitating some of the Manhattan working moms support groups. Prior to co-founding Mommybites, Heather was a learning specialist where she taught in London for many years as well as at The Dalton School in Manhattan. Heather holds a BA in psychology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, an MA in child development form Tufts University and acquired her learning specialist degree form York University in England. Heather currently resides in Manhattan with her husband, two boys, two fish and pet turtle.  Heather’s hobbies include, hot yoga, Nutella eating, writing, Bravo watching, reading and sharing immature jokes with girl friends. Renee Sullivan, Director of Support and Education

Renee Sullivan, parent coach and Founding Director of Babybites support groups, works with moms each week to create their own personal parenting plan that is right for them, while making sure that each mom gets the support, resources, and community they need for their parenting journey. Drawing from her experience as an birth coach and educator, she guides moms – new,seasoned and expectant through the never – ending array of decisions that come with having a child. Weekly sessions that are “nurturing, informative, and fun” and her “calm-laid back personality” has made her a “dynamic resource” to the parenting community since 2006. Renee’s positive, warm and enthusiastic personality relaxes and guides new and expectant moms to enjoy the journey and allows all parents that work with her to quickly get the resources they need to feel at ease to make informed and educated decisions. Before joining Mommybites, she narrowly escaped the trenches of Corporate America where she was a Senior Project Manager for The New York Times, Morgan Stanley and Pfizer. She lives in New York City and is the mom of one happy kindergartener.

 

Rebecca Dixon, Director of Advertising and Sponsorships

Rebecca Dixon is responsible for securing advertising, marketing, and sponsorship opportunities for Mommybites’ website, events and all other aspects of the business. Prior to Mommybites, Rebecca co-founded BE Designs, a fashion design and marketing company. Rebecca also worked in media advertising at CBS Television, Turner Broadcasting and Carat USA for 8 years following her graduation from Vanderbilt University. While in media, she worked in various capacities securing and maintaining partnerships between television networks and their advertising clients. Rebecca lives with her husband and their daughter, Eva, in Soho. She is co-chair of the Brooklyn affiliate of Horizons, an educational enrichment program serving low-income public school students.
