My Baby Brother

If your child, or any child you know, would like to share his or her Smilestone, please email [email protected].

Welcome to our kid-generated Smilestone blog! This blog is the brainchild of seven-year-old L, who wanted to create a place where children could share their Smilestones. A Smilestone, according to L, is when “something really important happens in your life and it makes you feel so good, you can’t stop smiling about it.” So in a time when we read about so much “bad,” this is a blog for children to celebrate and share the “good.” As L says, “I wanted to write this blog because I hope that after reading my story, maybe you’ll decide to make a difference, too. Wouldn’t it be cool if even one person who read this blog told someone else, who told someone else, and one of those people (or maybe more) decided to make a difference, too? Maybe the difference-maker will be… YOU!!!”

My Baby Brother by C

I wanted to share this blog with everyone to introduce you to my baby brother T – he has changed my life in many wonderful ways.

First, he was a big surprise to everybody in our family. My twin brother and I were 8 years old when he was born and my mum was 39! He was born on May 7, 2012, which was a very special year – the Year of the Dragon. He is supposed to very lucky.

He is also so very sweet, which has made me a better person. My older brother is much better with his manners now as we know Baby T is watching everything that we do.

Everyone in our family is so happy he is here. He has slowed everyone down and we take more time with each other and sitting on the floor playing games and reading with him. He loves to read books with animals in them.

My little brother also smiles and giggles all the time and that makes me a happy, loving sister who can be there to help.

I love my baby brother and I think he will be a wonderful creative person when he grows up. I will always look after him and protect him as I am his loving big sister.

C is 9 years old and has a twin brother and a baby brother – they all live in Hawaii. C has lived in Japan and Hong Kong and was born in London. She loves to play many sports and is on a select soccer team. She also enjoys drawing, being creative and reading books.
