As someone with very little artistic talent, I am always mesmerized by artists’ ability to capture the human spirit and the grandness of nature through photography. In a time when media and technological advances are exploding, there is still something magnificent and satisfying about a still image.
I stumbled upon this year’s winners of Sony’s World Photography Awards, which is “dedicated to supporting and cultivating photographic culture” – and thought I would share them. They are all incredible, but my favorite is “Children at play in a field of blooming sunflowers.”
