- Healthy, Easy, On-The-Go Toddler Snacks

thanks for the post. I’ve been searching the net for some projects I’m working on and came to find this. A good read.
Make your own trail mix — Cheerios or other cereal, raisins, nuts (if child’s over 2), other dried fruit. Frozen yogurt squeezers. Make your own ice pops with fruit juice.
fruit smoothie with frozen fruits and low fat yogurt
Cheerios
my 14 month old loves organic veggie sticks. they fit well in a snack trap and they are shaped like french fries so they seem “fun” to eat.
sliced banana slices sandwhiched with peanut butter and frozen.
My son loves the doughnut peaches. They are a perfect size and not messy.
Banana and soy milk smoothie – a great way to use up those ripe bananas!
Cucumber sticks, grated carrot, sliced capsicum and tomato. Cooked options include pumpkin, sweet potato, beans, peas, corn, carrot. Toddlers are notorious for being particularly picky with vegetables. If you give them veggies as a snack while their attention is taken by new surroundings, some may be more likely to eat them.
I think some great travel snacks for baby are:
Cut up fruits and veggies.
Semi-frozen bagels (which not only help with teething, but are perfect for gnawing).
In the summer, make ice pops with applesauce and water.
Cheerios!
small containers of applesauce
organic mini carrots and almonds
We take grapes, baby carrots and almost any fruit cut up. My littlest one loves them all.
slices of cheese or apple (or jicama or bread or anything else you can think of!) cut with cookie cutters into little shapes…
I always have fruit leather in my bag, it never goes bad and is always a hit!! My son also loves rice bars, veggie straws, and drinkable apple sauce!
Rice cakes!
Apple slices, grapes and other fresh fruit always do the trick!
Bite size vegemite and organic cheese sandwiches on organice white wholegrain bread.
I love the gerber freeze dried strawberry yoghurt drops. Not messy like real yoghurt, crispy like a meringue but it’s healthy and good for digestion!
i think cheerios is healthy and not messy at all.
I always have dried fruits on me.
my son loves Mush Mash by Plum Tots, fruit puree in a great mess free sippy container he can hold himself
Shredded up fruits and veggies are great, and the same incredients can be taken with you unshredded when on-the-go.
Peas in a pod are great on the go. I also make turkey and cheese pinwheels, by rolling 1 slice of cheese and a slice of turkey together, and then cuttine it up into bite size pieces.
