S.O.S. Product Review: Private School Innovator

Review by Rebekah Klipper

There are so many challenges we face as parents, but for me, none has been more daunting than applying to private school for my daughter. After spending weeks researching programs in our city, hours writing essays, and days visiting schools, I have only scratched the surface of this incredible undertaking.

There is so much more to think about. Co-ed or single sex? Progressive or traditional? K-12 or K-8?  What kind of enrichment activities do they offer? What is the difference in tuition? How big are these schools? Is there financial aid available?

These are all questions I find myself asking, and I was forced to keep a spreadsheet to track all the permutations. And just as I was about to freak out in fear that I’d missed an open house, I was introduced to a free, online program called Private School Innovator. Now, all of a sudden, I can breathe again.

Private School Innovator (PSI) is an incredible asset to help parents stay informed and organized as they apply to private schools. You can search its extensive school database to learn about programs in your city, and, for many schools, apply directly through its website (Hello! No more typing my name and address into various websites countless times). There is even a review process to learn about schools directly from parents of students.

The best part (in my opinion) is that PSI helps you organize the important admissions and event dates, so you never miss a deadline. And let me not forget to note that PSI will answer any questions you have via live chat, which is perfect if you have a million questions – like I do.

This program is a life saver for all parents applying to private schools. If you are starting the process, in the middle of the process, or even thinking about it for the future, I encourage you to log onto PSI and create a free profile for yourself.

*What exactly does a sponsored product review mean? Well, it goes a little something like this: unlike all of our educational content blogs where we receive NO compensation, for our S.O.S reviews Mommybites has been compensated by companies to review and discuss their product. This helps us pay outside bloggers (ones not affiliated with Mommybites, nor the companies themselves) to try out and review the products. This insures that all the reviewers writing these reviews are not influenced in any way. As usual, the writers will always give their honest opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences on all topics, products, and services.

The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely the blog contributor’s. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer or provider. Writers may have conflicts of interest, and their opinions are their own.
