When it comes to playing DOCTOR and HOUSE as kids, including when children experiment sexually with one another, when does it cross into inappropriate sexual contact? What can we tell our children about sexual play that will help eliminate the danger of being assaulted?
Dr. Kate will discuss:
- What is developmentally appropriate for children ages 3-7 regarding sexual behavior and when parents should be concerned that sexual behavior crosses the line.
- The normality of playing house or doctor, and the role of normal sexual development in these kids’ games.
- Masturbation as part of normal sexual development and examples of clear, comfortable language that parents can use to talk to their children about their bodies and touching their privates in ways that are normal and appropriate.
