Gloria has been an incredible part of our family and has cared for our children with the same love, attention, and dedication as if they were her own. At times, it feels like she is taking care of all of us, not just the kids. She is exceptionally caring, attentive, patient, and engaged every single day.
She is constantly reading with the children, planning activities, taking them outdoors, and keeping them active and stimulated. She takes them to the library multiple times a week and genuinely enjoys helping them learn, explore, and grow. She has been with our oldest son since he was just 3 months old and has played a massive role in helping both children become happy, emotionally intelligent, creative, and confident. She is also incredibly dependable and always willing to stay extra time when needed to help us transition from work or handle last-minute responsibilities.
Our lives truly would not be the same without her. The impact she has had on our family and especially on our children has been immeasurable. We are incredibly invested in finding her a wonderful new family!
We are moving out of New York this summer, and losing Tashi is the hardest part of leaving. She has been the cornerstone of our household for the last four years, caring for our daughter Anya from age 1 to 5 and our son Savan from infancy to age 3. If we were staying, we would keep her forever.
Every recommendation says similar things: reliable, loving, great with kids. Tashi is all of those things, but that does not come close to covering it.
1. She handles emergencies better than we do.
When our toddler took a serious fall and cut his tongue, Tashi assessed the situation and insisted he needed to see a doctor right away. While we got the emergency dentist appointment set up, she took him there herself and managed the entire situation calmly. She handled it entirely, and better than we would have.
When both my husband and I had our flights canceled and were stranded out of town at the same time, Tashi stayed overnight without being asked. She managed bedtime, handled the morning, and kept everything completely normal. By the time we got home, the kids had not even registered that anything unusual had happened.
2. She thinks about the whole child, not just the hours.
Without anyone asking her to, Tashi makes sure our kids video call their grandparents regularly during the day.
She taught Anya the alphabet at two years and three months. By three, she was weaving math into ordinary moments throughout the day. Handing her blueberries, she would ask, “If I give you two more, how many will you have?”
Her discipline is worth calling out as well. She holds high standards for behavior but is never harsh. She is firm and calm in a way that makes the kids feel safe rather than managed. Because of her, both kids know how to communicate their feelings and practice emotional self-regulation, which is not easy to teach.
Both their favorite birthday gifts are always the ones that Tashi gets. She knows both their interests so deeply, and the connection they have is incredibly special. Anya loves school, but she still occasionally asks to skip just so she can spend the day with Tashi instead.
3. She builds their world with total initiative
Tashi does not wait to be told what to do. She completely takes the initiative to plan their days, keeping them physically active and entirely screen-free. She is constantly organizing trips to Governors Island, the zoo, and all over New York because she is always thinking about what will enrich their lives. Savan is obsessed with transit, and she regularly plans ferry boat rides, bus rides, and train rides just for him to explore.
She has also made many fellow nanny friends in the neighborhood and constantly has different playdates and activities organized for the kids. Because of her proactive nature, our children have a wonderful social life.
4. The fundamentals are flawless.
She plans and prepares three fresh, wholesome, and nutritious meals for the children every day. She keeps the kids’ spaces tidy and manages their laundry. When it came to potty training, she was an incredible partner; she even devised a sticker chart system entirely on her own that motivated both children and helped immensely. Logistically, she is an exceptional communicator and is always punctual, professional, and reliable.
Other parents from Anya’s school have tracked me down independently just to tell me how amazing Tashi is and how different she is from other nannies they see at pickup and drop-off.

Our amazing nanny, Danielle, is looking for a new family!
Danielle took care of our older son two years ago, and then (thankfully!) agreed to work with us again this year for a four-month stint before our baby starts daycare in mid-May.
Danielle immediately bonded with both of our kids, and helped us navigate various transitions during their infancy — eating solids, drinking from a cup, transitioning nap schedules, you name it. She’s warm and caring, while at the same time fiercely protective, which has always made me feel at ease when I’m gone for the day. Danielle also believes in talking to kids clearly and directly, which has helped our sons develop their language skills.
It has always been clear that Danielle views her role, in part, as being our sons’ biggest advocate. For both of them, that’s meant helping them build confidence at the play gym or park — and even telling us when we should consider buying different toys, cups, etc. It’s one of the many things that I’ve loved about working her.

Natasha has been the nanny for our three children, but spending more of her time caring for our son over the past year, starting when he was 9 months old. She is incredible patient and loving with him, taking him outside to parks morning and evening to meet his friends.
Natasha prepares all of his food and snacks, and picks up my older children from school, taking them to the park, ensuring their home work is done. At home she also helps keep our apartment tidy (which is no small feat for a family of 5) and helps me with the kids laundry. She is also flexible to come early and stay late when I need her to.

Our beloved former nanny of nine years, Anita O’Reilly, is looking for full-time employment. Anita was hard working, conscientious, affectionate, and a true partner in raising our children. She managed both kids’ school and activity schedules, and she easily handled both children at home, out at playgrounds, at indoor facilities when the weather is bad, and getting to and from all of these places. She was always punctual and is a reliable employee. Most of all, it was a blessing to be able to leave the house every morning knowing that our children would be with someone who will treat them as her own children. My son said all the time that he wanted Anita to stay at our house and spend the night; he thought of her as part of the family and couldn’t understand why she had to go somewhere else once I got home each day. He even coined the term “mommynita” to refer to the two of us. When my husband arrived home before I did, he always commented to me later that evening how happy he was with the way Anita interacted with the kids. Both sets of grandparents made similar comments, as did our neighbors.

She always is eager to help in household tasks and has gone out of her way to make sure our youngster’s feel loved and protected, and so that their needs are well attended to.
We are sadly parting ways with our nanny, Sherieka, who has been with us since March 2025, as we are moving out of the city. She first joined us as our night nurse and transitioned into a full-time position when I returned to work.

We no longer need full time help, so unfortunately are parting ways with our wonderful nanny, Hermi. She has worked with us for 3 months, but has quickly made an impression and easily got a handle on our 9 month old\’s routine and needs. She is so sweet and loving with our baby, she sings and dances, is energetic, engaging, cautious, and protective while out and about – you will never have to worry about your baby\’s safety while in her care. Our baby absolutely lights up when she arrives for the day and tries to follow her out the door when she leaves. I always hear them laughing and playing in the other room and it\’s been so sweet to see their bond grow, even in this short amount of time that she has worked with us. Hermi is great with babies, caring, and eager to please, and she always leaves our home neater than when she found it. She has handled everything from taking our daughter to classes and playdates, coaching me through starting solids, shopping for and making our daughter\’s food, doing our daughter\’s laundry, and alerting me to things that need attention. Liliana cared for our baby Noah who is now 16 months old for 7 months until he started daycare and she was absolutely exceptional. We didn\’t want him to start daycare when he was 5 months so Liliana was a big help for us during those months until her turned 1. She is so dependable, warm, and has such a calming presence, Noah adores her. She helped him progress with sitting and crawling. She spent a lot of time singing and reading to him. Even now once in a while when she has time she helps on a weekend or evening to take care of Noah and he loves loves loves her.
My husband and I would have loved to continue with Liliana but Noah had been admitted after waiting a year to a very selective daycare. Deferring admission would have moved us to back of the wait list.
While caring for him, Liliana prepared all his food, kept everything related to him clean and organized. She also helped with light tidying around the apartment. She mostly speaks Spanish but understands some English. I don\’t speak Spanish but I was able to communicate with her using basic English and when that was not enough using one of the many instant translation apps there are. My husband speaks Spanish but he was always at work so I interacted with her 95% of the time with no issues. I even got to learn some Spanish which was a big plus for me.
We were so grateful to find her when we were desperate for a nanny and she was able to find another family after Noah for a few months but now that baby is also starting daycare so she is looking for another family. We recommended her to them and they are absolutely happy but also sad that their baby has to start daycare and can\’t be cared by Liliana anymore. I know that family would be more than happy to provide a second amazing recommendation of Liliana also.
This is a reference for Anita Rock. Anita has been our family’s nanny for our three children (who are now 9, 8, and 5) over the past three years. She has been a “super nanny” – in every sense of the phrase.
Prior to coming to us, Anita had worked over the course of nearly 30 years with two other families, both (obviously) for extended periods of time. When we spoke to them, they truly raved about her, about her commitment, her communications, and the degree to which she became a critical part of their families.
Anita has every bit lived up to this in her work with us and our children. She is genuinely a third parent – takes deep ownership over her job; has (almost unbelievably) not taken a day off in three years; is open to working when sick, when the family needs it; is genuinely and remarkably always on time, and in fact early much of the time.
For us, Anita arrives for us at 7:30 in the morning, makes our three kids breakfast (she loves to cook), gets them packed up and ready for school, helps get them out the door, and then brings 1 or 2 of them to school. During the time that they are at school, she makes beds, organizes the house, gets groceries, runs errands (indeed sometimes suggests errands that need to be run, then does them), and does any pre-work required for dinner prep. She then manages school pick-ups and shuttling our eldest two around Brooklyn for after school activities, play-dates, etc.
Our three kids are now nine, eight, and five – and Anita has been with us for three years, so since they were six, five, and two. Throughout, she has been impeccable in terms of parent-level communications – and also has simply brought a tremendous amount of love to the household. She worked deeply with our children to get to know them, to understand them. When she started, our oldest wasn’t super happy about having a new nanny – as he had spent several years with a prior nanny – and he showed up with some attitude. We were impressed at how Anita was able to work with him to win his trust and forge a strong relationship, despite his initial reticence. Our daughter got really into knitting, as an after school activity over the past year, so Anita decided to take it up with her – and now they knit together at home. And for our youngest, she has effectively raised him from when he was an early toddler – with non-stop love and affection throughout.
Anita, as a third parent, is able to lean into structure and discipline where needed. She ensures our kids show up with good manners and take ownership for different parts of their lives. This includes piano lessons, homework, chores – but also instilling good values, etc. This also very much jives with what we heard from prior families. When we were considering working with her, two of the kids she previously worked with, then in college, wrote us the sweetest letters about the many ways in which Anita shaped them as people.
We’re super super sad to be losing Anita, but we needed to shift to a part-time arrangement, which didn’t work for her, so we are now really motivated to help her find an amazing new family. She truly is a gem and will be an incredible fit for some lucky home. Anita lives in NYC, so this would be for a live-out position.
