Electra is loving, calm and patient. She enjoys taking children outside and to library classes to interact with other kids. Our son, who can be very serious, always smiles when she comes in the morning and loves her dearly. He can be stubborn about eating (and other things), yet Electra is more determined. She’ll make sure he eats properly while being kind and attentive. She does laundry regularly and is extremely tidy. She doesn’t work Sundays because she goes to church, but if you were to give her enough notice, she would be able to cover a Sunday or two throughout the year.

Because we moved from NYC, we had to part ways with our phenomenal nanny after 11 wonderful years together. From the moment Annie met our son at just four months old, we knew he would always be safe, loved, and in exceptional hands.

Each evening, we returned home to a happy, well-cared-for child who had been fed, bathed, and fully engaged throughout the day.
She also made time off from school incredibly special—planning outings to museums, parks, and other enriching activities. Her ability to balance fun, learning, and social interaction was exceptional.
Beyond her caregiving, Annie is deeply loyal and became a trusted partner in our parenting journey. Her instincts, experience, and genuine love for children made a lasting impact on our son and our family. Many of the qualities he has today are a reflection of her influence.
While it was incredibly difficult to say goodbye, we are excited for the next family who will benefit from Annie’s care. She is truly one of a kind.

We were lucky to meet Sharon in the summer of 2016 when I was about to have my second child. We had been sending our oldest to a daycare but realized that would not work well with two children — it wasn’t easy with one! Sharon made our lives infinitely easier and was wonderful with our kids. She truly loved spending time with them and they loved spending time with her. She kept them very active — taking them to parks and libraries and organizing playdates with other nannies and kids in the neighborhood. She was always on time and willing to stay late (even last minute when my job required) or come on weekends. Moni has been an invaluable part of our family for 3 years — from the time I brought my daughter home from the hospital, to her first day at “school” and the start of my second pregnancy. She is intuitive and protective. Moni taught my daughter her alphabet and numbers quite early, always found interesting library and music classes, and helped her make friends at the park who she still considers her closest friends. I asked her to speak Spanish exclusively to my daughter to fortify the language, and she absolutely did. Moni also made sure my first floor was immaculately tidy every time upon my return from work. Muofhe, who goes by her middle name, Confidence , affectionately called CC by our two year old daughter, served as our nanny for seven months during our stay in Brooklyn, NY.
From the moment Confidence walked through our door for her interview, my husband and I had an immediate feeling that she was going to be the right person for our family. This proved true from the start and we couldn’t be happier with her and the love and care she showed to our daughter.
Confidence effortlessly played with our daughter and taught her various concepts. The alphabet, counting to 20, colors, patterns, etc. were lessons that were incorporated through daily play and fun. Lurine has been our wonderful night nurse for the last 8 weeks and has been an absolute blessing to our family. From the get go it was clear she has a wonderful personality, adores babies, is reliable, and is easy to communicate with. Over time we learned how much of a calming presence she was, particularly in those early days and regressions when times are tough. We looked forward to every night Lurine was with us, because we knew we could rest easy and our son would be taken care of. In the mornings, our son has the biggest smile waking up with Lurine. They sing songs, read books, play, talk, and she even got him to enjoy tummy time!
As a new first time mom, Lurine made me feel very comfortable and safe asking questions and learning how to be a new mom and care for an infant. I never felt judged or pressured into doing something, which I can’t say for all of my night nurse and nanny experiences. She is also very experienced with developmental milestones and newborn care, and she gave us amazing tips and encouragement to support our son.
Separately, our son has specific medical needs (he feeds from a g-tube) and it was difficult finding someone we could trust who was caring and attentive enough to learn different feeding and burping processes, and Lurine embraced the challenge beautifully.
Lurine is looking for her next family and is open to night nurse positions Monday – Friday in Brooklyn and Manhattan! We couldn’t recommend her strongly enough!
I am writing this note in support of our Nanny, Ruth George, as she looks to begin a long-term role with another family. Ruth started looking after my son when he was 4 months old and has been with us five days a week through his second birthday. We are moving out of Manhattan, or else would have happily continued with Ruth and would like to highly recommend her for her next position.
Ruth has helped us through various stages of our son’s development, including but not limited to regulating naps, introducing new foods, and speech development. She reads to him, plays with him, and makes him laugh. She loves taking him out on walks, whether that be to the park, library, bookstore, museums, or the many playdates that she proactively sets up with other children from the neighborhood. The playdates in particular have been great for developing our son’s social skills. She also spends loads of one-on-one timing engaging with him in whichever toys or books he is interested in that day. We also look forward to the photos and videos Ruth sends us throughout the day to show us the activities our son is enjoying.
Ruth also cooks our son’s meals, does his laundry, and cleans up his books and toys. She is flexible around our personal schedules and is also happy to take our son to appointments or classes whenever they are scheduled. Perhaps most importantly, we’ve always felt that our son is in safe, trusting hands with Ruth. She is also CPR certified and has experience in early childhood education.
I am confident that the family that hires Ruth next will be as happy and grateful as we are.
Anita O’Reilly was the loving nanny to our daughter, Sarah, from the summer of 2012, when she was eight months old, and to our son, Andrew, since his birth in March of 2016. Anita was the first candidate we interviewed, and I knew right away that she was the one for us. I still remember her cradling Sarah in her arms, and Sarah just gazing at up at her. We interviewed several other candidates, but my gut feeling was that Anita was the one. Speaking with Anita’s references only reinforced our decision to hire her, and we never looked back.
Anita was hard working, conscientious, affectionate, and a true partner in raising our children. She managed both kids’ camp and school schedules, and she easily handled both children at home, out at playgrounds when the weather is nice, at indoor facilities when the weather was bad and on all modes of transportation. She was always punctual and is a reliable employee. Most of all, it was a blessing to be able to leave the house every morning knowing that Sarah and Andrew will be spending the day with someone who will treat them as her own children. Andrew said all the time that the wanted Anita to stay at our house and spend the night; he thought of her as part of the family and couldn’t understand why she had to go somewhere else once I got home each day. He even coined the term “mommynita” to refer to the two of us. When my husband arrived home before I do, he always commented to me later that evening how happy he was with the way Anita interacts with the kids. Both sets of grandparents made similar comments, as did our neighbors.
