Dolly has been with us for five years, since our eldest was four months old. Dolly is patient and kind with our children. She is never late. She is never on her phone (except to take pictures to send to us or to arrange playdates). She is willing to come in early or stay late to help with our work schedules and work travel and even our infrequent date nights. She prepares meals for the children, does their laundry, helps organize clothes, toys, and helps keep the kitchen and apartment tidy. She takes the kids on adventures both big and small: the zoo, the natural history museum, parks, playgrounds, Roosevelt island… the list goes on.
She has smoothly covered pickup for our older child at her school thirty blocks from our apartment all while taking care of our young toddler. She brings the children to classes, other activities, pediatrician and doctor’s appointments – she has even picked up prescriptions for our younger daughter in a pinch. Moreover, she constantly helps to arrange playdates and make friendships with other children that have translated to meaningful relationships for our entire family.
Over the last year she has been asked by our younger daughter’s teacher to help chaperone field trips for their two’s program. She is a wonder woman.
If we could, we would keep her forever, but she loves babies and young children and would like to find a new family to work with as our kids are now getting older and in school much of the day. She is specifically looking for a family with a baby to grow with.

Our former nanny Gina is an incredible caregiver! She cared for our boy/girl twins full-time from when they were 3 months old until they were over 3 years old (until 3-K), and there wasn’t a moment during that time that we were concerned for their physical or emotional wellbeing.
In our eyes, Gina is super-human…she has a seemingly never-ending supply of energy and physical strength; sitting on the floor with the kiddos, lifting them up for big bear hugs, leading the charge on (successful!) potty-training, and taking them out every day to the park, the playground, the library, and other activities.

As our soon-to-be kindergartners grew to find words of their own, the values of self-worth, independence, empathy, and gratitude Gina helped to instill show through as our kiddos engage politely with others and advocate for themselves.
