Staying up-to-date in the world of social media is difficult. As soon as you learn what is out there, something new comes into existence! I want to make you aware of what I have recently learned from the world of social media through the adolescents I work with in private practice.<\/p>\n
The first is a new app called \u201cFake-A-Text\u201d<\/strong> in which someone can create a fictitious dialogue, take a \u201csnapshot,\u201d and send it to another person to bully, badmouth, or frame another person of bullying. Attempting to tell the difference between a genuine or fake text is a challenge to say the least and adds another layer in deciding the outcome of a bullying case.<\/p>\n The second is a website called, \u201cSMACK High NJ.\u201d<\/strong> This is a blog that allows people to talk \u201csmack\u201d about high schools in NJ (there are also ones for NY and CT).\u00a0 A person can go and write a piece of \u201csmack\u201d about their own high school or another high school.
