The Odd Life of Timothy Green

What does Jennifer Garner, a boy growing from a garden and a room full of mommy bloggers all have in common?  I found out last week when I was one of a few moms invited to watch The Odd Life of Timothy Green at The Moms event, featuring Jennifer Garner herself!  I must admit I was a little hesitant when I saw the preview for this movie and wondered how I was going to connect to a main character that literally grew from the garden. But I did!

The Odd Life of Timothy Green is a heartwarming and lovely fantasy to watch develop. Timothy Green seems to appear right out of the garden after Cindy and Jim (Jennifer Garner & Joel Edgerton) wish for the child of their dreams.

It’s a family movie that will pull at your heart strings. Timothy is a blue-eyed, beautiful and loving little boy that will steal your heart in the first minute you meet.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green is a great movie to take your kids to and parents will enjoy it as well. It deals with emotions, love, parting, humor and family. It’s constructed by writer-director Peter Hedges (who wrote What’s Eating Gilbert Grape and About a Boy).

Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton are amazing together while playing imperfect parents to Timothy (CJ Adams). Jennifer has such a connection with Timothy and is such a natural mother – I can only imagine in her real life how great of a mom she is!

In Jennifer’s talk back with the mommy bloggers and editors she said, “This movie will remind you to not judge yourself as a parent or judge your kids. Nothing is perfect and everyone will survive. Get a community of women and family around you to help you raise your children.”

This is a movie that you definitely don’t want to miss. I was pleasantly surprised how much I connected to the characters. I fell in love with that cute and “quirky” little family. To love and be loved seems to be the theme of this movie.  A theme I want to always  keep close to my heart.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green was released Wednesday, August 15th. Rated PG.

Thanks Lipton Tea and Honey and The Moms for a great night out!
