Britax Party Pleases Babies and Moms

If you have ever been in a room full of new moms with their infants, you know what a “tough crowd” is: ladies who haven’t slept in at least four months can be difficult customers to please. Luckily, the trusted brand Britax can keep even the teething-est of babies–and their mommies–happy with safe, innovative products and gear. At a recent downtown New York City event hosted by Mommybites, some savvy mamas got to try out a few crowd favorites and offer their feedback to Britax. A leader in car seat safety for many years, the company continues to improve its products based on parents’–and babies’– opinions.

On display was the convertible car seat, the Advocate. Safe to use from birth to up to 70 pounds (70 pounds?! You will not need another seat!), the Advocate has side impact protection, is air travel friendly, and can recline for comfort in both rear- and front-facing positions. (And please remember to read all installation instructions and keep babies rear facing until at least age two–and as long as possible–per new recommendations by the American Academy of Pediatrics and my friend, the Carseat Lady.)

As the mommies demonstrated and played with some of the great features, such as easy adjustability for height, babies were clamoring to get a seat in this pimped-out ride.

And because babies never want to be put down, every mommy knows the importance of a reliable baby carrier. The Britax Baby Carrier, available in regular or organic cotton, comfortably holds baby close from 8 to 32 pounds. (Did you just gasp at the thought of your three year old strapped to your waist all day? Or was that just me?)

Easy to use with one-handed straps and buckles, neutral in color and made to accommodate small infants with an insert, this carrier pleased the pickiest among us.

For the record, had I not been in a sleep-derivation driven fog, I would have bought and used the Vehicle Seat Protector when I had the chance. This Britax product would have saved my car’s leather seats from being completely destroyed and conquered by three toddlers in carseats. Some of the lucky moms were able to take home this and other products, saving them from the same fate.

Held at one mommy’s Tribeca apartment, the Britax party had something for everyone–bagels, summer drinks, conversation, and information and tips on using new gear. One two-year-old guest, however, stood out.

This exceptional party-goer played, snacked, listened and made imaginary soup, surpassing this mom’s expectations of toddler behavior and, more importantly, showing the newbies how it’s done.
