I highly recommend our after school sitter Elyza Deleon as an excellent candidate for a nanny or babysitter position. Elyza has worked with our family for close to 7 years. She was hired as a part-time sitter when my daughter was 4 years old and had just started Pre-K and my son was 6 years old and in first grade. Elyza’s duties have included school pick up, accompanying the kids to after school activities, light meal preparation, and light housekeeping. While Elyza has typically worked a part-time schedule with our family, she has also worked numerous full days every year when school has been out for holidays and during summer breaks. She is extremely reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and very flexible and accommodating when we have asked her to come in early or stay late. Kathleen has been with us for 15 years, since our twin boys were 10 days old. Kathleen is a warm, caring, and patient person who has a positive outlook on life. She is extremely reliable. When our twins were born my husband and I both worked full-time, and our goal was to find a loving and capable person to care for our newborns during the day, who had a flexible schedule so could stay late when needed, and simply, whom we liked. We wanted a caregiver who was experienced yet flexible enough to “do it our way”. We struck gold with Kathleen. She was wonderful with our children, and they still adore her. Kathleen was terrific about getting the boys out and about – to the playgrounds, to the park, to weekly trips to the Natural History Museum as well as to more structured classes like music, sports, and eventually preschool. Her focus was on the kids – not her cell phone or the TV, and our boys were happy and thrived under her care. It was a comfort to my husband and me to know that our children were spending their days with someone who was keeping them safe and active, and bringing them joy. I’m a natural worrier and I feel very fortunate to have found a caregiver that I trust completely - I never worried about the boys while working, which allowed me to focus and excel.
We moved from Manhattan to Westchester at the start of elementary school, and Kathleen made the transition seamlessly (even with a longer commute). She befriended the other caregivers, moms, and dads, so the boys had plenty of after-school playdates. She made sure the boys did their homework, read books, and took baths. As the boys grew up and became more independent, we shifted Kathleen’s responsibilities to include more cooking, housework, dog care and housesitting, which worked out very well. Now that our boys are in high school and I have stopped working, we’re helping her find another position with a loving family.
I wish I had kept track of the number of people who have stopped me to say how wonderful Kathleen is. She’s a special person for sure, and I highly recommend her as a trusted, caring, reliable caregiver.
One note - Kathleen does not drive, so would work best in the city or a home near public transportation.

Mollie is the best nanny you could ever ask for and the best thing to happen to our family this year. After our previous nanny experienced a family emergency and left suddenly, we were searching until we found our unicorn, and that was Mollie. She is truly exceptional and we are absolutely devastated to be parting ways with her, but we are moving to the suburbs and it's much too far of a commute.
Mollie has been an absolute rock for us. She is beyond dependable and has been early every single day since she started. I know what time it is because I hear her coming up the stairs at the exact same time every day. My son is now 14 months old, and he is so excited to see her every morning.
She comes to us from a family with children who both had disabilities, she has done nanny shares, and has over 15 years of childcare experience. Her experience shows. She is so active and it takes a special kind of person to keep up with the energy of our little guy. She has never had an off day. She has been really proactive in engaging him in activities from the park, gym, music, and library. One of my biggest worries was having a 'bench' nanny, and Mollie is anything but. She is extremely present and engaged. She is very attuned to his interests and encourages him in whatever it happens to be at any particular moment in time. She has recommended developmentally appropriate toys that we didn't even think to get and has always been spot on with his needs. She messages us throughout the day with pictures and updates.
Safety in all aspects has always been a point of anxiety for me above all else. I've never doubted for a minute that he is in great hands with Mollie. She is hyper aware of her surroundings, she is always there to catch him when he's wobbling, and very attentive at meal times.
He is at a stage where he is becoming more communicative and she is always reading to him, doing flashcards and helping him verbally. She speaks to him constantly so he is hearing words all day long. I didn't even know they had been practicing sign language and was taken aback when he was signing 'more', 'please', and 'all done' at the dinner table recently. That was all Mollie!
She keeps him on our preferred schedule and is also flexible and nimble if naps don't work out as planned. She is incredibly patient (my son is a very slow eater), and always accounts for extra time where needed.
I've also never met anyone as prepared as she is. She packs his park bag while he's napping and never forgets sunscreen, extra snacks, toys, you name it. She will even prepare the bag and have it ready for us when we take him to the park after work. She is so on top of it and is always several steps ahead. I'm so forgetful, and it's so nice to never have to worry with her.
She is also so flexible with our schedules, and if we need to work, early, late, have appointments or otherwise, she has always not only been available but offered to stay without any issues whatsoever.
We have been so lucky to have Mollie as part of our family and I cannot recommend her enough. Any family would be so lucky to have her.

Mary was our family’s first nanny and it has been amazing not only watching her engage beautifully with Our Son but also, to bond with her as she became a part of our daily lives. She's highly experience and when I interviewed her, I knew immediately that I wanted her tod become a part of our family. Mary takes our Son out every day, whether that be to the playground or classes .She makes it a point to make sure he gets outside and is active. In addition, she has cultivated relationships in the neighborhood with children my son's age so he is engaged socially. While at home, Mary is constantly singing, playing and reading to him. I love hearing them laugh hysterically together. Mary is a wiz at understanding preferences and bringing out the very best in his budding personality. Mary is always on time and very flexible. She makes communication very easy, and we have never felt that there are issues we don’t know about. I'm writing to recommend our loving and amazing full-time nanny Mencie.
Nine years ago we met Mencie—our oldest daughter was a month old—and little did I know at the time, we had won the nanny lottery. I remember in our search for a nanny, I wasn't quite sure what to look for and everyone kept telling us "you'll know when it's the right person." We had interviewed 4 or 5 nannies and they all seemed "great" until we met Mencie and suddenly no one else was "right" and we knew she was the one?.
I remember in the early days of returning to work, Mencie not only took care of our daughter but helped me with the transition. She sent me pictures throughout the day, made me feel calm and reassured that my daughter was not only safe, but well taken care of and loved. She was patient, experienced, and made everything in our home-life calm?er. In the early months she walked my daughter to my office with some regularity so I could nurse her in the middle of the workday, and this was Mencie's idea! She navigated pumped milk and formula, diapers, made sure our daughter was on her belly enough, got her on a napping schedule, and ?organized a group of parent/baby friends ?for us who we are still close with to this day.
As my daughter got older, Mencie made baby food, potty trained her (Mencie gets all the credit for this!), helped transition her from two naps to one and then none, taught her the alphabet, did puzzles and blocks, sang to her, ran her around to classes, pushed her in swings at the park, all while making sure our apartment was always tidy, helping out with light cleaning like dishwasher loading/unloading, my daughter's laundry, and taking out the trash. When I gave birth to our second daughter two years later Mencie juggled two kids like a pro. She made sure our older daughter felt special during this transition, while caring for the baby with the utmost love.
My daughters are now first and third graders and in the time since they have outgrown diapers Mencie helps us juggle a robust amount of activities all over the city, ensuring home?work and violin/cello practice is done daily, cooking them dinner, teaching them the importance of being polite and having good manners, taking them to Dr.'s appts and conferencing me in from work, making follow-up dentist appts when needed, and everything else in between.
In the 9 years we've been with Mencie, she has taken 2 sick days?(!!!) and never been late. She has shown the utmost reliability.
Needless to say Mencie has become part of our family, we all love her and she adores my daughters like they are her own. Thus, this post is bittersweet. Our needs have shifted? and we no longer need a full time nanny. It's been very difficult to decide to make this change, because it feels hard to acknowledge that we won't see Mencie daily. But, I'm so hopeful that another family will welcome her into their home and win the lottery like we did.

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a glowing recommendation for our nanny, Janell. She's been with us since our little guy Jack was just 4 months old, and let me tell you, she's been a total rockstar.
Janell started out in a nanny share with another kiddo, Maeve, who's the same age as Jack. And let me just say, she has absolutely crushed it handling two toddlers at the same time. I have no idea how she does it, but she makes it look easy.
Before going the nanny route, Janell had experience in a preschool classroom, and she's put that expertise to great use. She has this whole classroom vibe going on, with fun daily activities, arts and crafts, the works. The kids are always learning and exploring.
And the outings? Janell is the queen of field trips! She takes them to the museum, library, music classes, the zoo - you name it. These little adventurers are always on the go.
What I really love though is how Janell has gone out of her way to get our family plugged into the community. She's made tons of new friends for Jack (and me!), and is always setting up playdates.
We're on the Upper West Side, but Janell has said she'd be open to working with families all over Manhattan, and even parts of Queens and LIC.

My nanny Amy is looking for a new full time (50 hours/week) position with a newborn/young baby. Amy is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, and she’s taken such good care of my son (and me) for the past two years. She joined us when my son was 8 weeks old and has worked for us for 2 years. Both my husband and I work full time, and she worked 50 hours/week 8-6. We live on the upper east side but she has also worked on the upper west side, downtown, and in dumbo. She is reliable, hardworking, proactive, caring, and I feel so incredibly lucky to have had her in our lives for this time. My son loves her so much, and she is so caring and conscientious about what is best for him. She changes her clothes when she arrives because she doesn’t want her subway clothes around him. When he was a baby she was great with tummy time, etc, and as he’s gotten older she’s been incredible with reading to him / teaching him things (he surprises me with things all the time like knowing all about the solar system at 2 years old) / making friends for playdates. When I work from home I hear them laughing endlessly in his room, she’s always finding ways to entertain him. She does absolutely everything related to his food, I don’t even have to think about it and she makes him amazing, healthy meals. I breastfed for a year, and she washed and sanitized all of my pump parts everyday when I got home from work (I really don’t think I could’ve done that without her). When he started solids, she made all of his food homemade. She also cooks for my husband and me, and prepares whatever we buy for us to eat as well. When I’m sick, she makes me soup and tea. She’s Thai, and makes amazing Thai food! I’m a very particular person and she’s so clean and tidy, and a very quiet, calm presence in our home. We are incredibly sad to part ways, but we had another baby in January and she would prefer to care for just one baby. I’d hire her again in a heartbeat.

Dechen is one of the world’s best nannies imaginable. Dechen has been with my family since 2021 and I cannot say enough good things.
With my older daughter (3yo), their bond is so special - Dechen has the perfect balance of discipline and kindness, showing massive amounts of patience with a toddler but also ensuring the rules are followed and they get out the door on time for school/activities/etc. Dechen has created an entire world and social life for our daughter - before she was in school Dechen found lots of play dates and friends for her in the park and in classes, and even on rainy days I’d overhear them playing in her room giggling in their imaginary world of pretend tea parties, grocery stores, playing doctor, etc. We also credit Dechen with how verbal our daughter is as Dechen has always spoken to her in real full sentences and treated her with the right balance of respect and silliness - a rare trait in Nannies. Whether they are running around in the park or doing an art project in the kitchen, they are always chatting away and having fun. On the weekends, my daughter constantly corrects me on how to wash her hair without hurting her eyes or how to push the swing the right way, which is a huge testament to her amazing relationship with Dechen. Dechen is also a true partner to a family - now that my daughter is in school I would update her on the parent teacher conference feedback so we could brainstorm together any changes we needed to make. She also potty trained our toddler in literally 3 days. She read an entire book about how to do it and proactively came up with activities for those few days and I truly do not know a single other family who had as good an experience with this as we did. It was unbelievable. She also helped our older daughter get ready for the new baby constantly talking to her about becoming a big sister and all of the fun amazing things they all would do together when the baby came.
With my younger daughter (4 months), Dechen has been the baby whisperer with her since day 1. She has been there to help us through nap training, she has given countless bottles (mixing the formula perfectly every time), and has spent huge amounts of time exposing our baby to books and words and songs during her awake windows.
From a safety and judgment perspective there is no one better. Dechen is self sufficient in executing good judgment about our daughter, particularly when it came to her health and well being. She frequently took her to pediatrician appointments without a parent present and took notes for us on what the doctor said, she administered medicine for our daughter, and she even found a tick on her that neither my husband nor I noticed. Our daughter is always perfectly lathered in sunscreen and safety has never been a concern.
Dechen also has a wonderful attitude in our house and is a pleasure to have around. She is thoughtful and kind and curious and even excelled in the tough situation of lots of extended family around all of the time. I am a very particular person and Dechen was always able and happy to follow how I wanted things done for my girls. She is willing to help out however necessary (for us for example that has included 100% of the cooking and food prep for our daughter for breakfast lunch dinner and snacks). She is a good communicator and extremely easy to work with.
I cannot recommend her enough!

In addition to everything you would expect (kids laundry, tidying rooms, etc.), she is a fantastic cook and truly goes above and beyond making sure that the girls have a healthy and adventurous diet. She made her own purees when they were babies and then made delicious homecooked meals as they got older. We constantly get amazed comments on the things that our girls eat (sautéed spinach, eggplant, quinoa, salmon, lentils, asparagus, you name it). On top of all that, she is incredibly easy-going with our noisy and rambunctious dog. Most importantly, at the end of every day our girls are safe, happy, loved and excited to tell us about all the fun they had with Jody. I’ve received so many compliments from teachers, parents, even strangers in the park about how great Jody is. Our nanny is truly wonderful and the only reason we are parting is because we are moving out of NY. She is loving and caring with our two girls and she is the main reason I have been able to go back to work fulltime, in person, without even blinking an eye.
She manages the girl's schedule, she has supported us with baby led-weaning and potty training.
She is extremely communicative and sends tons of pictures of the girls during the day.
She is the reason the girls have an active social life, she has created a nanny group so they are always socializing and having activities with other kids.
She is extremely responsible and a thought partner when we need to make decisions for the girls, but at the end of the day she executes on what my husband and I have decided for the family.
I really don't have enough good things to say about Gissel. She has really been a blessing to my family.

I am recommending our wonderful nanny Evelyn who has been with us for four years.she has taken care of our two beloved daughters with grace and patience when it comes to finding things to do keep the girls entertained Evelyn was on top of that. She arranged play dates trips to the zoo,museum,libraries birthday parties, music class and story time just to name a few. She was also hands on with reading books from home and the library and doing arts and crafts with the girls. She prepared healthy meals and snacks which the girls loved. She also responsibly kept their rooms play area and laundry clean. Evelyn is extremely reliable and was always on time. If need be she was also flexible to stay with short notice to stay late.we initially hired Eve because of her experience of over thirty years (30) as a childcare provider, but her calming presence and demeanor in our home made her a part of our family. She is also a certified baby nurse with CPR training. We exolt the highest recommendation to Eve to care for your little ones. She is looking for full-time employment live out position and is available to start immediately. She never missed a birthday for the girls She also drives and is willing to travel locally.
