Our daughter is starting daycare this fall, and our wonderful nanny is looking for a new full-time role! Barbara has worked as a nanny for more than 20 years, and has experience with newborns, infants, toddlers, and multiples. She is absolutely everything we wanted in a nanny: kind, loving, attentive, proactive, punctual, responsible, and reliable beyond measure.

She brings a warmth and happiness with her that infiltrates our home. She truly goes above and beyond to care for our daughter. An illustrative example of that is how Barbara handled a months-long situation where my daughter refused to nap anywhere but her stroller. It is very hard for us to write this because Rose has been with our family for **3.5 years**, since our son was just 3 months old, and she has cared for our daughter since birth. She has truly become part of our family, and we are only looking for a new home for her because we recently moved from NYC to Westchester and now need a nanny who can drive.

Rose has over 20 years of childcare experience, and I can honestly say that I have never seen a nanny as good as she is. Having been home with our kids for the past few months in between jobs, I have an even greater appreciation for just how exceptional she is.

Her attention to our children is extraordinary. She is never on her phone. She doesn’t even own AirPods! Her attention is 100% on the kids when she is with them. The only time she has her phone out is to take pictures of the children or if I call her. In a city where finding someone who is this consistently present, engaged, and attentive can be difficult, this is something we have always appreciated enormously about her.

She is kind, calm, loving, patient, responsible, and meticulous. Most importantly, she genuinely LOVES children. This has never felt like just a job to her—she treats our kids like they are her own. My son has gone through phases when he cries when she leaves at the end of the day and my kids both ask for her constantly on the weekends.

She has been with us through the newborn stage, toddlerhood, illnesses, sleepless nights, travel, and everything in between. When our kids are sick, she cuddles them, hugs them, and lets them sleep on her. She is incredibly nurturing and attentive and always seems to think of everything before we even have to ask.

She goes above and beyond every single day. She arrives early, never wants to leave until everything is done, and if the kids are settled, she will fold laundry, do dishes, organize, or find something else helpful to do without ever being asked. She is extremely proactive and takes so much pride in caring for our family.

Rose has traveled with us to Florida and North Carolina and has stayed with my parents in NY when my husband and I have traveled. She is incredibly trustworthy and has become someone we can completely rely on.

And we are not the only ones who think she is exceptional. Multiple people have commented to us over the years about how wonderful she is. Even the director of our preschool, who has seen thousands of nannies, went out of her way to tell us how exceptional Rose is—completely unsolicited.

Rose is very familiar with Battery Park and Tribeca, where she worked with us for 3.5 years, and she previously worked on the **Upper East Side**, so she knows those areas extremely well.

Our lovely nanny, Afyia, is looking for another family to grow with. We did a nanny-share with another family, and she has been with us since our babies were just 3 months old. Time flies, so our babies are 2 and about to head to preschool. Even now that our little guy is full of non-stop toddler energy and no-no-no, she is so good with him. She taught him to say, “please”! (sometimes). She read him books, plays with him, and takes him out to the library and to the many parks in our area every day.

Felix is starting school, and naturally our family’s schedule is shifting. As a result, our rock, Vashty, is looking for a new family to support and a new child to care for, nurture and love. If our circumstances were not changing, we would have Vashty continue caring for Felix.

Vashty started looking after our son Felix in February 2024, when he was just three months old. Over the past two and a half years, she has seen him grow from a baby into a (very) young man. He is happy, confident, kind, curious, present and increasingly independent, and so many of these qualities are, to a significant degree, thanks to Vashty. She has become a member of our family.

Most importantly, we trust Vashty completely. She has tremendous judgment and a quiet confidence that stands out. She is kind and deeply loving, but also clear and consistent. Her experience and personality allow her to instinctively understand when to let things roll, when to say no, and how to set boundaries in a way that Felix understands and responds to.

Vashty is exceptionally reliable. She is always on time for her 8 a.m. start and walks through our door with a smile and a warm good morning. She takes real ownership of Felix’s days rather than waiting to be told what to do.

That initiative extends well beyond our home. At the playground, time and again, we have seen parents and other nannies turn to Vashty, trust her judgment and think very highly of her. She has built a wonderful community among the nannies and families in our neighborhood. She knows what’s going on—activities at the library, the soccer program the kids love, birthday parties, playdates and everything in between—and creates a rich and varied schedule for Felix. Working with Nerisia has been an absolute dream for the last 3.5 years. Nerisia approaches every day with kindness, energy, and adventure. She is fantastic with newborns and has supported our daughter’s development from 6 weeks through all of her major milestones. She has organized her meals every day, done laundry each week for both of our kids, and has curated exciting daily adventures around New York City. making healthy meals that they genuinely enjoy.

Perhaps most importantly, Maria is exceptionally reliable and trustworthy. Over eight years, she has become someone we depend on completely. She is responsible, hardworking and consistent, and we have always trusted her implicitly with our children. There is enormous peace of mind in knowing that the person caring for your children will be there when you need them, will make good decisions and will care for them with genuine love and affection, and Maria has always given us that.

She has been a constant, loving and trusted presence in our children’s lives and a hugely important part of our family. Watching the relationship she has developed with our children over the years has been incredibly special.

Our beloved former nanny of nine years, Anita O’Reilly, is looking for full-time employment. Anita was hard working, conscientious, affectionate, and a true partner in raising our children. Most of all, it was a blessing to be able to leave the house every morning knowing that our children would be with someone who will treat them as her own children. My son said all the time that he wanted Anita to stay at our house and spend the night; he thought of her as part of the family and couldn’t understand why she had to go somewhere else once I got home each day. He even coined the term “mommynita” to refer to the two of us. When my husband arrived home before I did, he always commented to me later that evening how happy he was with the way Anita interacted with the kids. Both sets of grandparents made similar comments, as did our neighbors.

Norissa has been with us since our son was 6 months old and has been an incredibly loving, playful, and steady presence in his life. He runs to the door as soon as he hears her come in! From our very first interaction, it was clear that she deeply cares for and loves children. Her strong knowledge of child- development, paired with her warmth and playfulness, has encouraged our son through each milestone. She also helped us with several difficult issues, including a strong solids aversion and sleep struggles.
I’ve had the privilege of seeing how she shows up with my son everyday, and she is always fully present and focused on him: playing, singing, talking, reading, and laughing with him. She takes him on daily outings to the park and playground, brings him to classes, and has even helped him find friends in the neighborhood to have playdates with! Adi is the best nanny! She joined us when my son was about 3 months old. He was born super small and had pretty terrible reflux, so it was no easy task for her. She approached everything with him with such care and confidence. As a first time mom returning to work, I felt so comfortable leaving Adi with my son.

As he got older, she was wonderful at finding things to do with him! She is bright and friendly, and always making friends with the other nannys. Our son is always happy with Adi around.

For first time moms in particular, she was perfect. She is experienced and knows how to help when your baby is sick or fussy or teething, etc. I remember the first time my son had a fever, I was so upset. She calmly got him in the tub to cool him down a bit. Her calm demeanor immediately helped to calm our son. I’ll always be thankful she was there to help me learn!

She is very respectful and doesn’t overly insert herself. She is a pleasure to have in the house. Both my husband and I found it very easy to work from home when needed and feel totally at ease.

Mayte is reliable and professional: she cooks for our son, handles his laundry and light cleaning, keeps his toys organized, and sends us photo updates throughout the day. She takes pride in raising our son as if he were her own. We’ve always felt confident he was safe and well cared for.

She speaks Spanish and her English has been steadily improving. It’s never been an issue communicating with her, including for my husband, who doesn’t speak Spanish. And as a result of her Spanish, our son has become genuinely bilingual.
