NY Area Nannies

Maria has been our nanny for 5.5 years and is unequivocally one of the most reliable, kind, hard working, and overall wonderful caregivers I’ve ever had (and we went through about 5 nannies before her). We have 3 children ages 2.5, 6, 7 and has been with us since our oldest was 2. She makes taking care of children seem easy- never fazed, always calm, kind, and with a sense of humor. My older two can be quite a handful when together, but she manages to get through the day with a smile on her face. She has excellent judgement, a calm demeanor, and experience with twins and multiples. Her true love is taking care of small children and would prefer to start with a family with a baby or toddler. She is looking for a long-term, full-time, live-out position in upper Manhattan (UWS or UES). She speaks mostly Spanish but understands English, and our children are bilingual because of her. We love her like our family and are willing to be flexible with start dates because we want her to be happy in her next job. You will not find anyone better- she has been doing this for 20+ years! (The only reason we are letting her go is because our youngest is starting 3K in the fall and she needs a full time position).

We are heartbroken to be writing this because we truly never wanted to lose Sattie. She has been with our family for almost two years, but with our son starting preschool in September, our childcare needs are changing, and we are sadly no longer able to offer her a full-time position.

Sattie has become part of our family, and anyone would be incredibly lucky to have her caring for their children. Our son absolutely adores her, and the feeling is mutual. She is endlessly patient, kind, energetic, and genuinely loves being with children.

She goes above and beyond every single day. Whether she’s running around playing soccer,  taking him to the playground or classes, reading books, or coming up with creative games, she is always fully engaged. She has a wonderful way of making learning fun and naturally incorporates educational activities into everyday play. Thanks to her, our son has learned so much while having the best time, including a plethora of Spanish words as she is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Beyond how wonderful she is with children, Sattie is dependable, trustworthy, communicative, and has cared for our son with so much love. Knowing he was with her gave us complete peace of mind every day.

We are devastated to be saying goodbye and would keep her forever if our circumstances allowed. We are happy to provide an enthusiastic reference and answer any questions. Any family would be incredibly fortunate to welcome Sattie into their home.

Dolly has been with us for five years, since our eldest was four months old. In that time, she has helped with everything with the children—from our daughters learning to speak, crawl, walk, learn letters, learn numbers, learn how to play nicely with other children, potty training—the list goes on and on.

Dolly is patient and kind with our children. She is never late. She is never on her phone (except to take pictures to send to us or to arrange playdates). She is willing to come in early or stay late to help with our work schedules and work travel and even our infrequent date nights. She prepares meals for the children, does their laundry, helps organize clothes, toys, and helps keep the kitchen and apartment tidy. She takes the kids on adventures both big and small: the zoo, the natural history museum, parks, playgrounds, Roosevelt island… the list goes on.

She has smoothly covered pickup for our older child at her school thirty blocks from our apartment all while taking care of our young toddler. She brings the children to classes, other activities, pediatrician and doctor’s appointments – she has even picked up prescriptions for our younger daughter in a pinch. Moreover, she constantly helps to arrange playdates and make friendships with other children that have translated to meaningful relationships for our entire family.
Over the last year she has been asked by our younger daughter’s teacher to help chaperone field trips for their two’s program. She is a wonder woman.

If we could, we would keep her forever, but she loves babies and young children and would like to find a new family to work with as our kids are now getting older and in school much of the day. She is specifically looking for a family with a baby to grow with.

We cannot recommend Dolly highly enough. Any family would be lucky to have her.

She is looking for a full-time, on the books role starting in September. For the right fit we will figure out something else to allow her to start earlier if needed.

Vilma has been with our family for the past nine years and has lovingly cared for all three of our children—from newborns to toddlers, through preschool and elementary school. She has been one of the greatest gifts our family has ever received.

The closest comparison I can make is Mary Poppins. Vilma is endlessly patient, gentle, nurturing, dependable, and calm. My family is in the process of moving out of the city, and sadly this means we will need to part ways with our nanny. She is looking for a new nanny position beginning in September 2026. Our nanny, Sabrina, joined our family when I returned to work after maternity leave with our first child. After interviewing many potential nannies, Sabrina not only had the most experience, but she was also the easiest to talk to. By the end of our very first phone call, I already felt she was someone I could trust with my 4-month-old daughter.

My daughter is now nearly two years old, and Sabrina has been with us every step of the way. We are only parting ways because our family is moving out of the area, and we’ve decided to enroll our daughter in daycare as she’s becoming increasingly social and ready to thrive in a classroom environment.

Sabrina is incredibly attentive, patient, and nurturing. She is always tuned in to my daughter’s needs, communicates proactively about anything that comes up, and consistently goes above and beyond. We are relocating after nearly seven years with the most exceptional nanny our family could have ever hoped for, and we cannot recommend her highly enough.

Mai is a wonderful and loving nanny. It’s only due to our younger daughter going to school full-time now that we are sadly saying goodbye to Mai.

Mai started helping our family over 6 years ago when our older daughter was only 2 years old and has continued with us as our family grew with our second child. Both daughters have had the same core group of friends for the first years of their lives. AND many of them are also Francophone, so the kids are engaging in French and English with each other too.  
– She is loyal and trustworthy. We count on her and she can be depended on.
– She is part of the family. She found her place within our home, traveled with us, and cared for all of us in the way that only family does. She loves the girls and we love her.

We are extremely sad to part ways with our wonderful nanny of almost two years, Mayda, as our son will be starting school in the fall so our childcare needs have changed.

Mayda was with us from when our son was 4 months old until he turned two. She is extremely loving and caring and she developed a special bond with our son very quickly. She managed his schedule, his meals (including transition to solids), took him to classes and activities, helped him reach developmental milestones and more. She also taught him Spanish and many people comment on his proficiency in the language at such a young age. She was also attentive and nurturing, creating a warm environment for our son to learn, play and grow every day.

I am writing to strongly recommend Carolina as a baby nurse/nanny. Carolina lived with our family and cared for our son from birth until six months of age. During that time, she reliably supported our household and provided steady, attentive and loving care to our newborn.
Carolina consistently kept detailed records of our son’s sleep, feeding, and play, which helped us track his routines and development. She sent countless pictures each day of his activities which helped us with missing him while at work. She maintained a predictable daily structure for him and took him on regular walks, ensuring he had a calm, consistent environment. We always felt comfortable knowing he was being well cared for.
In addition to her childcare responsibilities, Carolina was helpful around the house. She routinely tidied shared spaces—such as emptying the dishwasher or straightening the kitchen—without asking. While we did not require assistance with cooking, she made it clear she was open to helping in that area as well.
As two physicians with demanding schedules, having someone dependable looking after our infant was essential. Carolina fulfilled her role reliably, and we felt confident leaving our son in her care each day. She was also very flexible with changes to our work schedules and open to supporting us however we needed.
Carolina is now seeking a position with a new family, ideally with a newborn with the possibility of transitioning into a long-term nanny role. We already have a nanny caring for our 2.5-year-old which is why we won’t be able fit this role for her. She would be a wonderful addition to a household looking for consistent, reliable, loving and attentive early infant care.

My husband and I cannot recommend Francis highly enough.

As first-time parents, we were (and still are) relatively clueless when it comes to caring for a little one. Fortunately, a family in our building that had worked with Francis for several years (she cared for both their son and daughter until elementary school) introduced us after learning that we were looking for support. Francis is incredibly patient, nurturing, and respective of our wishes as parents. She treats our daughter as her own and the bond between them is undeniable. She is excellent at holding the right boundaries with children — always loving, kind, and supportive, but also firm, clear, and never intrusive. As an example, we both often work from home, and she was a pleasure to share our space with. She is steadfast and tends to be more on reserved / introverted side.

Finally, Nicole is extremely punctual and reliable. We could always count on her to be on time and dependable.

She has a background in preschool education, speaks English and Spanish fluently, and has taught Flo Spanish from infancy. He is entering a Spanish immersion preschool fluent, even though neither of his parents speak the language.

When we learned that Flo has a seizure disorder, Lorena judiciously learned the specifics of how to care for him and prepare for difficult medical situations. We trust her wholeheartedly and have given her medical authorization to make decisions for both children in emergency situations.

Lorena is the one caregiver who brings the excitement that mitigates any stress of parents stepping out for work or a date. Our oldest has had several caregivers, and Lorena stands apart.

Sabina has truly become a part of our family since she started with us when our oldest was just five months old. What makes her so special is her pure, natural instinct with children; she brings immense patience, warmth, and genuine joy to the daily chaos of raising two active little boys. She handles the logistics of managing multiple kids at once with total grace and is incredibly proactive. Instead of just staying in the house, Sabina completely immersed our kids in the community, tracking down local playgroups and building a wonderful network of neighborhood friends so they were always learning and socializing. To show just how much she meant to everyone, Sabina organized a beautiful goodbye party for our boys, and it was clear from the tears that the local nannies and kids were just as heartbroken to say goodbye to her as they were to our sons. She is deeply reliable, trustworthy, and gave us total peace of mind every single day. We love her dearly and cannot recommend her highly enough for a family looking for a wonderful, long-term nanny.
