Nicole Charles has been employed by my husband and me as our child-care provider since 2007. She has cared for our daughter since she was 4 months old, and our son since he was born.

Isablea was took care of our little son daily from he was 4 months old until he turned two. She is extremely loving, caring, and energetic and she developed a special bond with our son very quickly. She managed his schedule, including naps and nap transitions, his meals, including transition to solids, took him to classes and activities, helped him reach developmental milestones and more. He was always happy to see her when she arrived.
Additionally, she took care of our older son on no-school days and regular evenings. She handled pickup from school, dinner bath and bed time for both kids. We could also always rely on her to help us bring one or both kids to the grandparents or depending on our schedule.
We always appreciated Isabela’s initiative. Beyond doing activities asked of her, she was proactive in suggesting new things, organizing play dates and kid parties with other children in our building/community.

Our incredibly nanny Magaly is looking for a full-time position starting in September or October. She has been with our family for 9 years, caring for our 3 children from the time they were 3 months old to elementary school. Vanessa is not only an incredible nanny but also a truly trustworthy, compassionate, flexible, and reliable person. She was with our family from the time my son was just four months old until he turned six, when we relocated to New Jersey.

I’m going to struggle to describe what a wonderful person, loving caretaker, and positive presence Bhavana is. She took care of our 1-year-old, and with Bhavana, our daughter took tremendous strides in her confidence, language and walking (little pun there). Bhavana is patient and playful with her, and I love to see them together, and my daughter clearly loves being with her. She herself is quite intelligent (a college degree and partway through a Master’s in Data Science), fun and friendly, and we really like spending time with her and are grateful she has been part of our family.
We really weren’t planning to part with her, but one of the few daycare slots in our neighborhood with 3K opened up and we had to take it.
To list a few of her best attributes, aside from the good care she takes of our daughter:
1/ She’s an excellent cook for the whole family. I ate her food about 2X per day, but she was also very intentional about making things the baby would enjoy and would challenge her.

4/ She was great at fostering social interaction and community. Our wonderful nanny Rosa is looking for a new family. She has over 20 years of experience and is a truly loving and caring individual. She has always been punctual, and has been flexible when we needed her to stay late or work on a weekend. Rosa has taken amazing care of our 1-year old daughter – she is always engaged and I’ve never seen her on her phone except when she was playing music to dance with the baby. When our daughter naps, Rosa usually does some light cleaning and folds the laundry even though we’ve never asked her to do that, she’s just a really helpful and kind person. On our daughter’s first birthday, she even showed up with a little cake, candle and gifts. We cannot recommend Rosa enough, we would be continuing on with her if we could!
This post is about someone truly special: our caregiver Mica is available for full-time work starting in September. She’s been such a gift to our family and our daughter, and I so wish we could keep her on – since we can’t, I’m hoping we can find her an amazing family, preferably in the Brooklyn/BoCoCa area (but she’s open to Manhattan and other parts of Brooklyn too!)
Mica started working with us when our daughter was 1. There are so many things I could say about her and her talents, but a couple things stand out in particular. One is her energy – she has such enthusiasm and spirit in working with our daughter. She’s always down on the rug with our daughter playing, having dance parties, and generally just filling all of our days with joy. Her ability to turn around our daughter’s mood is truly next-level. And when she started, she instantly made friends with a whole network of nannies in our neighborhood, so that my daughter always has a gang of friends to play with. (The parents of those friends who have seen Mica in action also HIGHLY recommend her.)
Another is her flexibility and dedication to our daughter and family. From day 1 she’s been endless adaptable – adjusting to nap and schedule changes so easily – and a true partner in helping to raise our girl. She always has ideas on how to navigate hard stretches and is constantly devising ways to help – when I was solo parenting during a particularly hard time with bedtimes in our household, she even offered to come back at night to take a turn putting our daughter to bed.
Finally, her love, tenderness, and care for our daughter is truly unmatched. Our girl ADORES Mica, and I’m already teary thinking of her not being with us every day. But our loss is your gain, and I know she’ll be snapped up by a wonderful family!
My husband and I strongly recommend our exceptional nanny of over 3 years, Joy, who is caring for our now 3-year-old and 1-year-old daughters. She started with us when our oldest was just 5 weeks old (both parents worked outside of the home by 6 weeks of age). She played a very important role in our transition into parenthood. She has worked with several young families, many for 3+ years. Her very first family worked with her for >15 years, and they still celebrate birthdays and holidays together and consider her part of their family.
Joy is particularly gifted in caring for newborns. She immediately knew how to soothe our new-born daughter, helped us to establish nap and feeding routines, supported my combined nursing/breast milk/formula feeding plan, introduced solids, ensured our baby was clean and well-dressed, and provided loving care to her through every milestone. She coordinated outings to the park, music/gym class, library, playgrounds, and playdates while also tending to the baby’s laundry, meal prep, and light tidying in the children’s areas (she is an expert pillow fluffer and blanket folder and can make every room look a lot neater!). As our baby became a toddler, she helped us with potty-training and pre-school readiness. We have received compliments on our eldest’s manners since she was ~2 years old!
When we welcomed our second daughter, Joy continued to provide developmentally appropriate care to both girls amidst the scheduling challenges of multiple infant naps and school/activity transport. In their 1-3+ years together, both girls have formed a beautiful relationship with her.
She has an easygoing, joyful energy. Both of our children smile wide and run/crawl to her in excitement when she arrives each morning. There is laughter in our home all throughout the day. Joy is dependable, punctual (usually early!), and incredibly flexible, where she was repeatedly willing to arrive early or stay late at short notice due to a change in our workday. She is very safety conscious, and we can completely trust her with our children both inside and outside of the home.
We are now saying goodbye because we are moving to Pennsylvania. Joy is looking to start with her new family in September or October but is overall flexible on the start date. She is especially interested in working with a single, newborn/baby and we would wholeheartedly recommend her for this role. Our nanny Sher is warm, reliable, and experienced. She is CPR certified and has a lot of experience with newborns and toddlers. She was wonderful with our son and worked with us from the time he was 8 months through 17 months. She helped us transition to 1 nap, ramp up food intake, and ensured he got plenty of time outdoors and at the park. She also took him to classes and met with other nannies so that he could be socialized with other babies around the same age. We recently moved from NY to LA and want make sure she finds her next job!
I highly recommend Berenice. She has been a nanny for my family for close to two years and has done excellent work. I would describe Berenice as kind, dependable, hard working, and professional. Our beloved Isidora (Isi) is newly free to share in the growth of another lucky family! Since my daughter (Bayla Rose) was 5 months old (now over 12y) Isi has provided loving, educational, adventurous, reliable care. Come to think of it, not just for Bayla, but for our whole extended family. She was full-time with us through 2018, then part-time until 2024. Her latest family just moved out of the area so there is the rare opportunity to snap her up full-time for your child.
From tender babyhood through active toddler and school years Isi provided superb care for my daughter, our aging dog, and the whole family! She is the type of caregiver who didn’t just read to Bayla, she created a cozy, interactive, learning time with books–did the whole bit: voices, taught words in English and in Spanish while still giving Bayla room to identify pictures, letters and numbers for herself. Isi didn’t hesitate to roll around on the floor playing “sick” when Bayla was imagining she was a doctor for the umpteenth time.
Isi was the type of caregiver who orchestrated long, joyful days with Bayla assuming the responsibility of full-time parent while I was on shift for 12 hours at a stretch. Each day with us lasted over hours. During that time Isi independently navigated Bayla’s feeding, napping, and hygiene as an infant then when Bayla was older playdates, playground romps, in-home time with dolls, trucks, play kitchen stuff and other toys, not to mention artsy projects, meals, light housework, laundry, older kid personal hygiene and bedtime.
Always punctual, typically early, Isi frequently stayed late without a peep of complaint (as often happened since I work in a Pediatric ER.) She asked for help when (and if) she needed it and took instruction well, though she rarely needed that. In fact, she often kept Bayla on a more consistent playing, learning, eating, bathing, etc. schedule than I (her mother) managed to.
She is a loving and fun addition to our family and always professional. If Bayla weren’t in Middle School with minimal after-school care needs, I’d have kept Isi on full-time.
