When my son was learning how to walk, for example, she quickly established a routine of exercises for him at home, unprompted. When he later showed an initial interest in math, she was first to create worksheets to elevate his knowledge. Most importantly, she is trustworthy, honest, and fiercely protective. There is no doubt in my mind that our children were safe when in her care. Her punctuality and reliability are invaluable. She always arrived with at least 15 minutes to spare. Pat approaches every day with a positive attitude and joy, while taking her job very seriously. She is hardworking, proactive, efficient, and always thinks 5 steps ahead. She, for instance, would pack the kid's bags well in advance for our weekend getaways without being asked. Pat completes tasks methodically and quickly and takes feedback and direction well. Especially important in working in such a personal setting, she knew when to give us space, but was present and proactive when she could provide guidance. She offers flexibility in terms of schedule on nights and weekends and can travel domestically and internationally. She travelled with us often. When she had spare time as my son grew older, she cooked for the family and loved sharing delicious cuisine from Trinidad. Lisa is the only nanny my children have ever had. She's been with us about 14 years from when my son was 3 months old. We hired her because I was returning to work. She had amazing references, but they didn't do justice to how great she was for our family. She is an absolute must hire for a new mother. Lisa taught me how to be organized and made me a better mother. She showed me how to do things better. I highly recommend her to any family, and she can manage more than one child easily even if one is an infant. I think new moms like I was would especially benefit from her several decades of experience. Her first morning with us she arranged my son's room in a more sensible fashion, found clothes I didn't know he had and got him on a more rational feeding schedule that allowed me more time between breast feedings. I had no concerns going back to work with both of my children so long as she was there. (I had my son's sister 2.5 years later) Lisa was so wonderful for our family. As my kids grew, she was right there, showing me how to better care for them as they got older telling me what I needed to do to make sure as our family grew the kids adjusted. It’s rare to find someone who is as effective and helpful with an infant as she is with a teenager. Lisa is smart, savvy, CLEAN, and she has a wonderful way with children of all ages. She also gets along with the whole family from grandparents to kids. My mother is the only living grandparent and thinks of her as a second daughter and will call her directly about the kids. When the children were infants, she had them on a feeding and nap schedule. She'd read to them and walk them in the stroller. She would accompany them to music and tumbling classes. As they got older, she would accompany them to and from school. She attended games and theatre productions and would even help me when I would volunteer for school activities. She would dress up for Halloween when my 10 year old wanted us to be a box of crayons for her school's Trunk or Treat festivities. She would prepare lunches, breakfast, snacks and help them with homework and check their Kumon. She works very hard. She is a planner and makes sure to get the kids to their engagements early. She works very quickly - cleaning, dressing, bathing. (Well, she is faster than me.) She's quick but still thorough. She's an excellent cook. My children love her traditional cooking. She was a great sous chef when my children's father cooked. She also follows recipes well and can make just about anything. I had no issue returning to work with my children in her care. She was so helpful when I had my second child. I travel for work, and she stays with the children when I am away. She is family to us especially my children. We love her very much.

Leaving the city and want to find a fantastic family for our nanny. Nicole Essama, joined our family two years ago, when our son was 8 weeks old, and he absolutely adores her. Nicole is nurturing, has a calming presence and is extremely reliable. She has been great with our son at every stage of his development from a newborn to an energetic toddler. When our son was a newborn Nicole was good about making sure he got tummy time at home and kept him on a regular schedule. Now that our son is a toddler, Nicole is always happy to get down on the floor and play trains or dance around the apartment with him. She takes him to the park whenever the weather is nice and has been very proactive about finding activities for him, like story time at our neighborhood library branch or a gym class at our local community center. Nicole is great about making me feel connected with my son even when I am not around. She constantly sends us pictures of him and lets us know how his day is going. In addition to taking wonderful care of our son, Nicole is great about cleaning up, cooking nutritious meals, making sure the dishes are done and his laundry is taken care of. Each morning our son runs to the door to greet Nicole with lots of hugs and kisses. Nicole came to us with almost 14 years worth of childcare experience.
