Pearl has been an incredible nanny for us. Her patience is endless and her love for our children (turning 6 and 2) is undeniable. She is kind, warm, thoughtful and flexible beyond measure. Pearl started with us when our youngest was just a few months old. Immediately they shared a bond which she constantly nurtures. She is very well-versed with the needs of a newborn and has been able to seamlessly balance the needs of our older son as well (which can be quite different!) The love Pearl has for both of our children and vice versa is evident with the big and small gestures they all make to each other daily.

She is a constant for them even when our family schedule can be unpredictable. With ease and grace, Pearl has been able to accommodate many changes to our schedule due to doctor appointments, sicknesses, afterschool clubs, etc. When our needs changed and we asked Pearl to pivot to different responsibilities, she did so seamlessly and without any hesitation.

Pearl is energetic and able to wrangle our wild children at all times. She loves spending as much time as possible outdoors and does not shy away from daily long walks no matter how inclement the weather may be. She gives our children her full attention and is able to gently re-direct them when their behavior warrants.

Our children will be very sad to see Pearl move on to her next, lucky family (and we fear telling them!)

Our nanny Shelly has been with us for 10 years and we love her! My kids will be in school full-time next year, so she’s starting to look for a new family.

What she’s looking for: A full-time position for a newborn on the Upper West Side starting in July/August.

Why we love her: She’s an incredible nurturer and teacher and has guided our kids flawlessly through many different life stages. Shelly started when my daughter was 3 months old (she’s almost 10), and helped us with feeding, napping, walking, potty training, discipline, playdates, learning letters and numbers, and much more. She then did that all again for my son, while also caring for my daughter, plus she cooks their meals, does their laundry and keeps their rooms organized.

My kids’ teachers often tell me how amazing Shelly is after seeing her interact with them. I also always ask Shelly for parenting advice, and will continue to do so after she leaves. Her enthusiasm for what she does immediately stood out when I first interviewed her. E’Alsha was a nanny for a little over 9 years. She is CPR and First Aid certified and has prior experience as a baby nurse. She is vaccinated, boosted and Covid cautious. From the beginning, she has taken an active interest in helping our sons grow and learn. She is always suggesting classes, engaging with other nannies at the playground so our sons could have play dates with other kids and teaching our sons basic learning and development skills for their age. Vicky was with us for 15 years. She has been with us since our oldest was 9months old, and she is truly a blessing! We have 3 daughters, all who refer to her as “mama Vicky” She is kind, caring, patient, always on time, and is just the best nanny there is. Dominique was truly a gem & delight to have as part of your family. I have know Dominique for 5 plus years and she was our first ever nanny for our twin sons and she started with us when they were approaching 3 months. One of which was medically fragile as an infant & Dominique was very compassionate, and managed to tend to both boys needs although one required much more physical attention and care. She would also assist with all recommended home therapy activities suggested by my son’s therapist.

Our nanny of 11 years (!) has grown with us since our first was born. My kids are older now and sadly we have to move on from a nanny. Nakie is wonderful with kids, engaging, energetic and helped me keep the household running all of these years. She drives and is flexible and reliable.
