They Matter

I would like to dedicate my newsletter intro this week to Brandon Stanton, founder of Humans of New York, to Principal Lopez, and to all the other educators out there working tirelessly to improve the lives of children. I have been a total HONY groupie for years, but have been especially enthralled, humbled and inspired by watching the story of Ms. Lopez and her students unfold over the past week.

Reading the comments posted about this story, and seeing how much money has been raised in such a short time, has made me prouder than ever to be a “Human of New York.” For those of you new to HONY and/or the story of Ms. Lopez, here is a clip from when they were featured on Ellen this week.

Here’s to making sure that every single child feels that “they matter.” Every. Single. One.
