Welcome to our New Weekly Columnist: Sarah of “In the Trenches of Mommyhood”!

Hi everyone! I figured the first post in this new weekly series of mine should be an introduction. You know, a shaking of hands, a how-do-you-do, a Get To Know Your Blogger.

    Ok, here goes:

I am a happily married mother of three angelic boys. My husband is hot and my children are, of course, gorgeous. I work full-time in a great career, yet still manage to run a calm, peaceful, immaculate household and bake organic banana bread from scratch on the weekends; that is, when I’m not volunteering at the local soup kitchen.

    Can you relate?

OF COURSE NOT. Anyone who writes that as a bio is (1) deluded and (2) no friend of mine.

    Let’s try again, shall we?

I am a mother of three rambunctious sports-loving boys, age 9, 7 and 6. My husband and I have been married for over 12 years and we live in the suburbs of Boston. I work full-time as a corporate paralegal, and my household, while rarely ever “deep clean”, is mostly “surface clean”, meaning the dishes are done and the floors are vacuumed, but God help you if you ever look under my couch. And the bathrooms? Forget about them. They ALWAYS smell like pee. So consider yourself warned.

I do actually cook meals for my family, but during football season when all three boys are playing and my husband is coaching, Family Dinner Nights are a rarity, so hot dogs it is!

And sadly, I don’t do volunteer work. With what free time?

In short, I am you. A busy mom who loves her chaotic and messy life. Now pass the wine.

Sarah had a mind once. Now she has children. Her personal blog, In the Trenches of Mommyhood, chronicles her oftentimes guilt-riddled working motherhood journey – the good, the bad…and the boogers.
