Mommy Friendships

    Find Family Friendly Activities

    Hi Everyone!

As babybites is a community that fosters mommy friendships, I thought I would share with you a poem that my five college roommates and I received early on Christmas morning from another of our roommates. Just to give you a little background, I have known these women for over 20 years. We have been through life’s good and bad and everything in between. Five of us are married and between us we have 12 kids with a set of twin boys due this spring. This poem is from the friend who is pregnant with the twins:

    Twas the night before Christmas
When I woke in my room
There were so many creatures stirring in my womb!
So down the stairs I crept so as not to bother
My family, especially my babies’ father.
(He had not got a full night sleep you see
Since I started waking thrice nightly.)
And then by the light of this iPad,
I began thinking of all the things for which I was glad.
So much to be grateful for this year!
And next? Even more when the boys are here.
And to you, my dear girls I hope good things arrive.
Life is just so much better knowing you five.
So at this I should probably try to sleep,
And stop my rhymes, which are the opposite of deep.
To Missy, Sharon, Jen, Heather and Kate,
Here’s to a Merry Xmas, I hope it is great!

Here’s to mommy friendships and happy endings, especially when they end like this: after receiving this e-mail the roommate that is not yet married replied to all of us, “I know we don’t have a planned girls’ weekend for 2012 yet. But we will have a wedding…” She had just gotten engaged!

    Cheers,
    Heather
