Green Parenting: The Story of Stuff Video

    Find Family Friendly Activities

By Elise Jones, babybites blog editor

Back when I was first introduced to Practically Green and their fantastic resources, I was busy checking out some of their action plans when I came across a video called The Story of Stuff. It isn’t often when a video resonates so deeply with me that I can still recall facts/details about it almost a year after watching; but this one does.

The Story of Stuff is a movie about how we consume stuff. It is no secret we are a very high consumption society. We make purchases daily and that stuff must come from somewhere. It has to be made, shipped, marketed, shelved, designed, etc.

This video addresses the process and tells us what is going to happen if we continue on the consumption path we are currently on. Check it out, it’s so worth it.

Feel free to share this video with your friends and family. I feel like it is so important to be armed with the knowledge so that we can choose to use it in our own lives the best way it makes sense.

What was the most surprising or interesting fact you learned from the movie?
