Unexpected Me Time!

    Dear Dallas-Fort Worth Airport,

I am writing to thank you for a most enjoyable stay at your airport last week. You probably get a lot of angry emails from disgruntled fliers, but not from me! You see, I was there for what was supposed to be a short layover, but due to mechanical problems, was there for four hours. All. By. Myself. My kiddies were back in NY with their grandparents, so there I was – alone. I repeat. Alone. No children. No computer. No nothing. Before children, I would have ranted about the demise of American air travel.

But not now. No, now I had four hours to myself. I kicked off my “me time” with a leisurely-eaten yogurt parfait while skimming the latest InStyle. Then I found one of those express airport spas and had a little chair message. Finally I bought myself a new book, which I read 98 pages of IN A ROW (before I realized I’d read it before… but I digress). In fact, I had myself such a grand ol’ time at your lovely, sparkly airport that once I finally got on my flight I had to have a little nap.

    Yours Truly,
    Heather

P.S. Here’s to hoping I never have to write you after a four-hour layover with my two boys.
