If you are a working mom, you have probably planned to take maternity leave. Make the most of that leave and really bond with your baby and delegate other responsibilities. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, and always accept it if it is offered. Venture out and try and meet new moms like yourself. You will be happy you made an effort finding new friendships after you have gone back to work. These new friends will already be in your life and you can concentrate on your professional job, instead of just starting the hard work of forging new friendships at that time.
Above all, during maternity leave, get some sleep! You will not be able to function during maternity leave or after if you don’t catch up on your sleep when the baby sleeps. Try and get the baby on a schedule because that may help you navigate your new work day if you know exactly when your baby naps.
