Philips Avent: Pacifiers, Bottles and Education – S.O.S. Product Review

    Review by Rebecca Dixon

I barely remember those first groggy days in the hospital with my daughter beyond the happiness, cuddles, breastfeeding, and yes, tears. Both my daughter’s tears and mine flooded the hospital room as I was unsure of how to soothe her.

In those same days as I was learning what it felt like to be a mother, the nurses at my hospital brought in a Philips Avent Soothie Pacifier and suddenly everything was okay again. Her tears stopped immediately, and shortly after, so did mine. My husband and I have been hooked on this brand ever since – through the birth of our second daughter and, most recently, as we prepare for a son. With only a few weeks left in my third pregnancy, I am starting to think about packing my hospital bag and the Avent pacifier is at the top of the list.

The current updated version of these pacifiers feature adorable little bears on them.

And Avent has pacifiers for the next stage (beyond three months) with a whole variety of patterns on them for infants and toddlers.

Philips Avent is the #1 pacifier brand in the US, but they also help give babies a healthy start in life by offering feeding support. With a breast pump, breast pads, milk storage bags, milk storage containers, and bottles, Avent recognizes that feeding sets the stage for both emotional and physical growth.

These bottles are a perfect supplement to breastfeeding and have transitional models that go all the way up to sippy cups. Additionally, when moms purchase Philips Avent feeding products, the company includes a breastfeeding guide along with online resources. It is so comforting to know that companies like Avent are not only providing really useful products but also taking an interest in moms’ education.
