A Mommybites reader asked:
What are some great places to buy toddler toys from online?
Answer by an expert, Marsha Greenberg
Toddlers love toys that come apart-dump-splash, crash and mirror there own experiences. Most of these toys are around our houses and cost little to nothing but if you do want to buy toys check out Parents’ Choice Awards for reviews as well as Amazon reviews. Look at sites like Honeybee Toys which is an Australian site with organic toys many of which can be found on Amazon or in your local community. Check out this website to look for great categories of toys for toddlers let will help guide your purchases: Zero to Three.

When I’m looking for top quality toys, but nothing in particular, my favorite websites are Haute Look, Zulily, and Gilt. These are all discounted shopping sites with amazing kid sections. I just bought my 2 year old a highly rated balance bike from haute look for a steal!

I am a big fan of “one stop shopping” so I buy just about everything (including toys) on Amazon. I also like really like One Step Ahead. However if my two sons were still toddlers I would definitely use this cool new website I recently heard about called, Sparkbox Toys. Once you join, you get a box of different, age appropriate toys each month. At the end of each month you ship back the toys in the box they provide or you can also buy any of the toys if you child ends up loving them!

Laura, March’s toddler mom, ready to answer your questions! She is a full-time mom to Jake, 4 1/2 years and Logan, 2 years. Prior to full-time motherhood, Laura lived and worked in NYC as a CPA and an executive recruiter for finance and accounting. Shortly before her 1st bundle of joy was born, she moved to the suburbs and now lives in West Hartford, CT. She has taken on the mom role with gusto and when not whipping up PB&J sandwiches, wiping runny noses, and breaking up wrestling matches between her sons, she co-leads the PTO at her son’s preschool, dabbles in photography, runs 5Ks, and takes boot camp classes whenever the bosses allow (Jake and Logan, that is!).
