Author: Abbie and Sam - The Mother Company
Abbie Schiller started The Mother Company in 2010 when her daughter was in preschool and she yearned to find a hero in children's media who would help teach the important social and emotional lessons she struggled with at home. She created the character, Ruby, the star of The Mother Company’s DVD series, “Ruby’s Studio,” to act as a hero in children’s media. Abbie's daughter is now 7, growing as quickly as The Mother Company, and her son was born in October 2010, the same month "Ruby's Studio" launched.
Recognizing the need to help children identify and address their feelings was just as critical as learning ABCs and 123s, Abbie and her business partner, Samantha Kurtzman-Counter, a fellow mom, created The Mother Company as a parenting resource and has garnered Parents Choice Awards and raves in the press. The Mother Company is comprised of a group of moms passionate about reaching a generation of children with products that encourage them to become more communicative, resilient, kind, and self-aware.
