    In a recent tele-class expert Stephanie Weiss, from Ask Stefanie, shares some useful tips on preparing your child for sleep away camp and answers commonly asked camp questions.

    Here are the questions Stefanie answered during the class:

    1. What can parents do to mentally prepare their children for their upcoming summer?

    2. My child seems ok, but I am getting very nervous to send them to camp for the first time, how can I not let them affected my anxiousness?

    3. My child doesn’t know anyone going to camp with them, should I reach out to the camp and see if she should meet someone before camp starts?

    4. My daughter is feeling nervous about the long bus ride up to camp, anyway I can help her prepare for this?

    5. What are some helpful tips for a new parent whose child is going to camp for the 1st time?

    6. Do you think it’s a good idea to set up a friend for my son to sit with on the bus up to camp?

    7. How often should parents write to their campers up at camp?

    8. Last year my child wasn’t in a lot of pictures up at camp, do you think I should talk to them about making sure they get in front of the photographer? It makes me feel better when I see them!

    9. I have a feeling my child is going to be homesick, any suggestions on how to handle this before he leaves?

    10. My daughter is very shy, how easy is it going to be for her to make new friends?

    11. My son sleeps with a blanket he has had since he was a baby, should he bring it up to camp with him? I don’t want him to look babyish, but he really needs it to go to sleep?

    12. My daughter went to camp last summer, had a great time, but is feeling anxious to go back, is this normal, and what should we do about it to make her feel better?

    13. My son is having nightmares lately, I think it is because he is going away to camp for the first time, is this typical for child going to camp for the first time ?

    14. My daughter gets nervous stomach aches sometimes, what should I tell her if she asks me if she will get them up at camp?

    15. My child can be a tough kid. How much information should I give the camp directors about this? I don’t want to give them a negative impression before they meet him.
