Mother’s Day Traditions

Mother’s Day. The name says it all: “Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world.”

Although each country has its own traditions, here at Mommybites the Belgian Mother’s Day tradition is one of our favorites: “In Belgium children make little presents at primary school, which they give to their mothers in the early morning of Mother’s Day. Typically, the father will buy croissants and other sweet breads and pastries and bring these to the mother while she is still in bed – the beginning of a day of pampering for the mother.”

    Let the pampering begin!
