Dressy Sweats

I want to share a real-life conversation I recently had with my husband when I bumped into him at the hairdresser’s around the corner from our apartment. He was there getting his hair cut, and I was there getting a blow dry for our school’s benefit gala. (It then proceeded to pour on me on my walk home, thus making the nice bouncy blow dry I just had a moot point, but I digress).

So here’s the background. As many of you know, I – as well as all the members of the Mommybites team – work from home. Which means I never have to “officially” get dressed. Which means I can wear variations of yoga/sweats/work out clothes all day long. As such, here’s how the conversation transpired when my husband saw me at the hairdresser’s:

Hubby: Babe – did you wear your pajamas to the hairdresser’s?
Me: Nope. This is a sweatshirt.
Hubby: But didn’t you sleep in it last night?
Me: Yes, but today I am wearing it with a bra. So today it’s not pajamas. Today it’s a sweatshirt. In fact, since it’s pink, not grey AND a v-neck, I would actually consider this a dressy sweat shirt.
Hubby (knowing damn well he was on very thin ice with whatever he said next): OK got it. My bad.

Here’s to working from home, and most especially, here’s to anything with lycra!
