Times – oh, how they change. Back when my boys were babies, I absolutely hated the “fall back” time change. I would hear everyone say how great the fall time change is because we gain an extra hour over our lazy, leisurely, glorious Sunday.
In fact, way-way back before I had kids, I too embraced the “get-an-extra-hour-of-my-Sunday-let’s-be-foot-loose-and-fancy-free” mantra. However, once I had babies that were a) getting up before 6:00 am and b) had no idea – nor cared – that time had all of a sudden changed, the addition of an extra hour just kinda made my Sunday feel very long and not so luxurious.
Fast forward a few (okay, many) years, and now that I have boys whom I literally must drag out of bed each morning to get ready for school or games or practices, the “time-change” and I are best friends again. I am actually giddy at the thought of gaining an extra hour. Downton Abbey, comfy sweatpants, extra Halloween candy, here I come.
Here’s to embracing that time (and times!) really do change.
