All the experts are abuzz with helpful back-to-school tips for you and your children: how to prepare your children; what school supplies to buy; what the must-have fashions are for this school year…But as a veteran mother of three school-age children who has acquired a lot of wisdom and experience throughout many school years, I thought it would be helpful if I gave you some quick tips for prepping your home for Back To School Season:
DO have a neatly organized storage space for each of your children. It’s nice to have a clutter-free place for them to hang their backpacks and coats and a specific place to put their homework.
DO keep school shoes neatly in cubbies to avoid the mad morning dash to find lost shoes!
DO be very picky about what “art” projects and papers you keep. If you aren’t discerning and you vow to keep everything that your precious Picasso-in-training creates, you will be overrun with sparkles, glitter and crinkled paint-splattered paper before you know it. So toss more than you keep! Trust me, your young Rembrandt won’t have a clue.
In summary, do as I say, not as I do! (Obviously.)
