Part I: THE SKINNY (in other words, what’s the product being reviewed, why is it different and why should I consider buying it?)
What is Kidfresh? According to Kidfresh founder and NYC dad, Matt Cohen, “Kids’ meals these days… a lot of them are downright scary and often loaded with all sorts of artificial ingredients. As a father myself, I decided that we needed more options for all-natural kids’ meals – the kind that are yummy and nutritious for children while convenient for parents. We did just that, in a real kitchen, with the help of a top chef and a pediatric nutritionist. We first started with our own concept store in New York City where we offered natural and organic kids foods. Rich of this innovative and unique experience, we decided to broaden our reach and offer our all natural kids meals in supermarkets throughout the country.
There are a lot of prepared kids meals out there. What makes Kidfresh different? “Our meals are a twist on children’s favorite foods, rich in vegetables and without a single drop of anything artificial. Even our packaging meets the highest safety standards with no BPA, no Phthalates nor other potentially harmful chemicals. We use recycled paper, carbon-neutral printing and recyclable containers. While this is all well and good, the most important thing is that our meals taste great and children love them.
Any other cool facts moms should know about? Through two main donation campaigns in May and December 2011, Kidfresh donated close to 100,000 individual healthy and natural kids meals to City Harvest who delivered them to soup kitchens and food pantries in the New York area. “We served the Kidfresh meals on the same day they arrived,” says Pastor Alfonso Brown of Church of God in Christ Jesus, a soup kitchen in Queens. “It’s great to get a contribution like this during this time of year. Struggling families often rely on schools to provide some of their children’s daily meals, but due to the holiday break, they rely more on donations to keep their children fed.”
Part II: THE REVIEW* (In other words, what does an every day person NOT affiliated with the company think of the product?):
Kidfresh, a New York based company manufactures many all natural products for a growing child’s diet. I recently tested their ‘ super duper chicken nuggets’ and I’ll admit that at first I was skeptical. How can chicken nuggets contain puréed vegetables and still taste good? Well, Kidfresh did it.
The chicken nuggets were so light! Most chicken nuggets have a thick breading, especially when it’s whole grain breading. Some breading is so thick that you can barely taste the chicken, but the chicken was absolutely present in these nuggets. Also, you don’t even taste the vegetables because the chicken is so full of flavor.
The texture of these nuggets were also perfect. Often times when you put chicken nuggets in the microwave they become soggy, but these did not. After one minute in the microwave, they came out cooked all the way through and the texture was perfect.
Kidfresh has loaded their nuggets with 11 grams of whole grain and 12 grams of protein. To ensure their products are all natural, they have eliminated the use of sugar, antibiotics, 40% less sodium and 73% less fat. These ‘super duper chicken nuggets’ are an excellent product and highly recommended! Eat up!

*What exactly does a sponsored product review mean? Well, it goes a little something like this: unlike all of our educational content blogs where we receive NO compensation, for our S.O.S reviews Mommybites has been compensated by companies to review and discuss their product. This helps us pay outside bloggers (ones not affiliated with Mommybites, nor the companies themselves) to try out and review the products.
