Keeping Your Kids Healthy and Fit During the School Year

Your child’s health is your first priority, and one of the best ways to keep her strong and active is with fitness programs designed for younger children. These programs are not intended to increase muscle mass or definition, but rather focus on teaching kids to how to use their energy in a beneficial manner. Childhood obesity is growing due to the excessive usage of technology – such as computers, tablets and video game systems – which have caused children to become less active with their bodies aside from playground activity during school.

It’s understandable that parents sometimes want to keep their children busy with technology in order to get a break, but a healthier activity would be something more physically active. Help keep your child’s bones, muscles, lungs and heart healthy by feeding her nutrient rich meals, and enrolling her in a physical activity that does not necessarily focus on competition.

Parents should strive to participate with their children!

Children are at this amazing age for learning and showing off their new running and jumping skills. They are more than ready to participate in individual and group physical activities. These types of fitness classes focus on allowing children to express themselves, having a strong sense of play, but, in fact, are actually physically training their bodies to use extra calories that may have been consumed. This will prevent childhood obesity, and more children will be less likely to develop serious medical conditions such as heart disease and diabetes.

However, parents being supportive and participating with their children is just as important. Studies show that your child is most likely going to copy your every move, so performing physical activities with her allows your child to feel that it is something she should do as well. When you do sit-ups or eat an apple, they see this and know something is good about it. You are their heroes and role models, and taking a couple hours out of your day, a few times per week, is well worth keeping them happy and healthy.

After school is the time kids need attention

The school day has ended, and kids are more than ready to use their energy after being “stuck” in classrooms, exercising their brains. Sure, there is recess where the children have a specific amount of time to play and have fun, but how much of that time is actually being used for physical play? This is where you have the opportunity to take action and give your child a little more physical activity during the week – plus you get to spend extra time with him as well.

A good recommendation would be to enroll your child in a youth fitness class for 2-3 days a week after introducing him to it – also depending on how your child’s body reacts to the training. If you feel they are starting to feel excessively exhausted and possibly sore, simply lessen the amount of days until a future date.

Youth fitness classes for children should not cause exhaustion because they are focused on playful activities that exercises the child’s body, but do keep careful watch on your child’s grades because this is an easy way to see if exhaustion is affecting him.

Introducing Your Child to Fitness Training

Ease your child into fitness training by first only taking her once per week to get an idea about what she’ll be doing. Attend the class and monitor how he reacts to the new surroundings, coaches and activities. Let him enjoy himself and have fun while following the simple instructions of the trainer. Try not to get in the way of the class teachings unless something feels wrong. Once your child has attended enough classes and appears to be enjoying herself, you have the chance to increase the amount of days she’ll attend.

Your child’s health is important!

The information provided is meant to give you an idea about giving your child the chance to maintain a healthy body through youth fitness training. Studies prove that the training helps kids focus better in school, and tends to help them understand instructions better to prepare them for sports activities in the future – if that’s what they wish. Youth fitness classes allow their bodies to grow naturally since the bones, muscles, and organs are being strengthened and possible fat gains are alleviated. There really is no special way to accomplish this – just proper nutrition and physical activities are all that is needed.
