Making A Difference One Step At A Time

One of my proudest moments was “running” the Boston Marathon with my dad in 2007 as part of the Leukemia Society’s Team In Training. You’ll notice that running is in quotations because running would be a very generous description of how I walked/shuffled the course to make it to the finish line. Luckily, I had my dad with me, who happens to be an avid marathoner who brought an entire backpack of food and supplies for me and who would sprint ahead to hang upside down from trees to take pictures of me throughout the race.

In addition to this being a really special moment in time with my dad, it was made all the more special to be doing it through Team in Training. Which is why I am beyond thrilled that our charity partner for our upcoming Ultimate Moms Night Out is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Moms In Training program.

Don’t worry – you don’t have to run a full marathon to participate. Instead, Moms in Training is a way for moms to meet other moms in their areas, to get in shape (they offer organized training programs around the city) and to fight cancer. The Program culminates with a 5-mile run/walk in Central Park on November 17th or a 15K on November 24th (event day participation optional).

Program dates:  September 28th – November 24th in 7 NYC locations: Central Park, Madison Square Park, Washington Square Park, Pier 25, Prospect Park, Astoria Park & Clove Lake Park.
