Q: What or who inspires you?

Entrepreneurs, especially ones who are moms. Women who are slaying it and also wife-ing and parenting from the heart.

Q: What is your best piece of parenting advice?

Honor your child’s emotions. Meet them where they’re at. Give their emotional space air time, don’t shut them down or tell them what they are feeling is wrong.

Q: What’s the worst piece of parenting advice you have heard?

When I was pregnant, I remember venting to a mother of two about how I used to be a good multitasker, but that pregnancy had robbed me of that. And she said, “Well, get used to it, it never comes back.” She was wrong. Not only was she wrong, but becoming a mother has been one of the most creative times of my life, one where I can multitask the heck out of my life, as long as I prioritize my health on every level.

Q: What’s the most common question you are asked by parents?

“What do you feed Jaymes?”

Q: What are some of your favorite T.V. shows? Books? Foods?

I’m a big fan of nutrient dense wholesome foods. One of my favorites is bone broth. For children, I love the book, Super Nutrition for Babies. I also love The First 100 Days for post partum recovery and healing. Otherwise, I don’t read many parenting books. I mainly read more for my own health and wellness research. My goal this year is to get back into fiction. I’m currently reading, Big Little Lies.

Q: What are some of your favorite parenting products?

I love the reusable popsicle makers. I make a nutrient dense smoothie, pour them into the popsicles, and my son eats them up. I also love using beef gelatin to make nutrient dense gummies. We also have a lot of fun with puzzles and playing costumes. I’m not sure there’s a specific product I love for kids other than something that is fun for Jaymes.

Q: What’s up next for your professionally?

My third book, Body Belief, is coming out in March 2018. This book has been an incredible passion project for me as it’s all about helping women feel better. It’s all about helping women reconnect to themselves so they can renew their body beliefs and ultimately reawaken their health.

As a wellness practitioner serving thousands (between my clinics and my online reach), I have come to realize that women are suffering an epidemic of feeling unwell. I think it’s because we are putting everyone else – particularly our children and our relationships – before our self care. Body Belief is the guidebook to take back the power of your health and your body beliefs so you can live your optimal wellness.
